Summer Entertaining Essentials

Between summer camp and entertaining friends, I find that I need to do a kitchen check to make sure I have everything I need as far as summer kitchen gadgets and essentials. Summer is the perfect time to entertain and try out new recipes. Especially if you have a high-quality grill, it’s great to grill hot dogs and burgers and enjoy a happy Sunday or put delicious recipes to the test. Summer meals are some of our favorites and there are so many ways to make outdoor entertaining and seasonal recipes that much easier to create. So without further ado, these are a few kitchen items I’ve been stocking my kitchen with for summer parties!

Kitchen Must-Haves

Firstly, all of these categories are very broad and I think that’s something that is to our advantage because you can pick and choose which items make the most sense for your summer kitchen essentials. From stainless steel knives to a watermelon slicer to gas grills, the easiest way to enjoy this time of year is to keep your time in the kitchen to a minimum. This way, you can actually be out enjoying the day and night with your family and friends.

Recently, we’ve been into having a pizza stone because it’s a fun family activity to do but the outcome is delicious! If you have the space for a pizza oven, outdoor cooking is great in the summer and homemade pizza is our thing! Delicious meals do not need to equal a messy kitchen, there are items that can do the bulk of the work for you so you can create memories!

Entertaining Must-Haves

Secondly, entertaining and cooking require totally different items! For instance, I have been loving ice moulds! But I have one that is shaped to surround a bottle of alcohol, so I can put anything I’d like inside. I’ve been enjoying flowers for holidays but this summer, I’m thinking of doing seashells! It looks pretty and keeps a refreshing beverage nice and chilled. Furthermore, if you have kids, an ice cream maker will be your very best friend this summer! Yes- they are a pain to clean up, but it’s worth the smiles. We like to challenge ourselves to create a new ice cream flavor each weekend in the summer.

Chips and Dip Platter, Bow Bottle Opener, Netted Food Covers, Seashell Napkin Rings, Ice Mold, Picnic Basket, Pitcher, Wooden Bowls

Cleaning Must-Haves

Finally, we need a few things to clean up after a long weekend or big night of cooking. Again, I’m all about making things easier! Work smarter, not harder when it comes to cleaning. Personally, I think it’s even better if it’s items that are sustainable or clean. I have kids and I try really hard to have products that are safe and not full of scary chemicals. We all have one product we can’t live without and for me, it’s my vacuum! I think we can all agree that sometimes we cook and entertain and are up so late that we don’t stay up to clean after everything. For the morning after, we have to have items that make the morning as a tired human easier! Cleaning and then making breakfast to begin the cycle all over again of cooking and cleaning.

Steamshot, Biodegradable Wipes, Robot Vacuum, Shark Vacuum, Blueland Cleaner, Bona Mop, Grill Cleaner

  1. I’ve been a bit lax in realizing the outdoor entertaining season is upon us. I have to check out some of the recommendations in this article – especially about making clean up easier.

  2. Great list of musthaves- I have a similar wine bottle chiller ice mold and it is fabulous.
Living in Florida I think I live in a sunshine state of mind 365 days a year!

  3. I’m loving the toaster you shared. We’ve had the same toaster since we got married 10 years ago, so I feel like a toaster upgrade is a must.

  4. I love that set of glasses and bowls. The design is so pretty and the vibrant colors sure give off that summer vibes. I would love to get a new vacuum cleaner too. I will check out budget this month if we could afford a new wet or dry vacuum cleaner.

  5. With indoor gatherings being encouraged now after the pandemic, these are some things we need at home. Thank you for the list!

  6. The kitchen. It’s the heart of our home and more often than not the heart of parties. These are what we all need.

  7. Barbie Ritzman

There are some fantastic suggestions here. Personally, I really appreciate the idea of including wine, and it would be great to have something to place the wine besides just a table. Thank you, and cheers!

  8. I can’t wait for the weather to heat up so we can start having people over for drinks and a BBQ. But it’s been on and off here weather wise for a few days and we’re not sure what’s going on!
