Netflix Shows You Need To Watch This Month

I am always looking for a new show to watch. Lately, I feel like I’ve been struggling to find something entertaining, especially with how many streaming platforms there are these days. There just is too much to sift through and who has the time to do that? By the time you’ve finished searching all the categories, an hour has passed. I did a deep dive and discovered what’s new this month and am more than happy to share my findings with you!

Shows:

Cheer

If you’re unfamiliar with this show, the first season came out at the beginning of 2020, while the second season dropped this year. It follows a competitive college cheer squad, with all the ups and downs- both literally and emotionally. If you did cheerleading ever, this is a must watch, as it’s nostalgic and if you haven’t, you have to see what it’s like!

Stay Close

This show is a month old and I somehow haven’t heard anyone talk about it?! It follows the lives of a soccer mom, photojournalist and homicide detective, who are now haunted by a horrific event from the past. The first episode gives you just enough mysterious clues that will suck you in and make you want to keep watching.

Archive 81

Here is a brand new horror fiction show, I haven’t really seen much in this genre, but this was intriguing. An archivist has taken it upon himself to restore damaged video tapes, but what is on those tapes? A mystery unfolds involving a missing director and the peculiar cult they were documenting. Now the archivists need to get to the bottom of what happened.

Selling Tampa

If you are a Selling Sunset fan, you are going to love this one! It takes place in Tampa and follows a female owned brokerage and all of the women who work there. Drama in and out of the workplace ensues, but let’s be honest, we are watching for more than the drama. We want to see the houses!

Kitz

Disclaimer: this show is actually fully in German, but there are translations! It’s too interesting to not check out! Lisi’s brother had a tragic death, and a year later she finds herself in a Munich clique that makes the trip out to a luxurious ski resort in Austria every winter. Who wouldn’t want to see what that looks like?!

Maid

Alex is a single mother who is stuck in an abusive relationship. She becomes a maid to try to escape hardship and homelessness in order to give her daughter a better life. This is absolutely a heart wrenching story, but this drama is a must see. The performances and the script are outstanding.

Ozark

Ozark is back! Season 4 is officially released and ready for viewing. If you haven’t seen the show yet, it’s about a financial planner who has to relocate his family from Chicago to a summer resort town in the Ozarks. A money-laundering scheme has gone wrong and he is on the move, with his family in tow. This drama is full of surprises and suspense.

Emily in Paris

The second season is here! Emily is a marketing executive living in Chicago, when she is up and moved to Paris to bring an American perspective to a marketing firm there. There’s romance, fashion and of course, Paris sights to be seen in this feel-good, rom-com type of show!

Pretty Smart

Sometimes, I just want to sit and watch a cheesy sitcom! I have had the hardest time finding a good sitcom lately, but I think it’s safe to say I found one on Netflix! Chelsea is incredibly smart and is now moving in with her sister and her lively roommates. Chelsea must learn to live a little now!

Workin Moms

They’re back! The moms are back! This is a great show to watch at the end of the day because it’s got really short episodes, but it’s so entertaining. It’s all about a group of moms who met in a baby playgroup class. They all work and have to find the new balance of work and mom life, but it shows that everyone has their struggles. The pretty outside isn’t always all kept together on the inside. The show returns at the end of February!

Queer Eye

If you love a good makeover show, this is for you! It’s all about 5 people who come into people’s lives and help them become the best version of themselves. In every aspect, too, such as with their hair, clothes, and even their house! They transform their space and their minds.

True Story

Kevin Hart stars in this new show! It’s about a famous comedian who is on tour, when one of the stops becomes a matter of life or death. He has a night out with his brother that risks destroying all of his hard work. What happened and how will this affect him?
