Kids Style File: Duchess & Lion

I am so excited to share this Kids Style File with you this week! Meet Duchess & Lion! I first met the designer Stacie Lucas about a year ago; she was the co-founder of a line called Bambinos & Bunny. Siella lived in their signature B&B dress and head-band/ear warmer and even wore it for our Christmas card photo shoot. Stacie has since branched off with her own line Duchess & Lion. The new line is all about adorable rompers, leggings, her signature head bands, and cutesy dresses. In fact, I reached out to Stacie right before Gemma was born begging her to make matching “sister” head bands and leggings; which the girls both wore when they first met each other.

I had the opportunity of asking Stacie a few questions. And might I add she is 41 weeks pregnant at the moment, due literally any moment with her second child! We are sending new baby vibes your way and a very  big Congratulations. Cannot wait to see pictures of your new baby!
What are some designs coming out in the next few months?
The best design to come out in the next couple months will be Our sweet little new addition to our family.  Addie is going to be a big sister and we are going to be adjusting to being a family of four, so things are going to slow down a bit through the new year.  However, I can never stop the wheels turning so I know there will be new prints in my staple pieces (rompers, harems, and leggings) as well as some great spring dresses, new accessories, and some vintage pieces that are already in the works.
Where do you see D&L a year from now?

This is something my husband (co-owner and my business wiz) and I talk about often. This next year is going to be filled with a lot of growth and adjustment in our family life, so as anxious as we are to continue to grow our business, we will be relying largely on the organic growth that has driven the business this far. At the end of next year, we will truly be able to evaluate our next big growth.

Your babe is due any day, have you made all his/her clothing?

YES! Our babe was due this last Thursday, but I am confident, much like its older sister, he/she will be two weeks late.  So, no, I haven’t yet made clothes, but there is still time.  I did make the babe a blanket, booties and a hat, but we don’t really have much practical clothes yet!

Can you name one staple in your daughters wardrobe?

Surprisingly, the number one staple in Addie’s wardrobe are basic T’s from American Apparel.  They are perfect to layer with, add accessories to, put under a romper or with any legging, or layer under a dress.  It is like Having a blank slate every morning I dress her, without needing to own hundreds of unique pieces.

SITC was not compensated for this post but did receive samples, and truly loves this line!
