For the last two years, I am really trying to face my fears and shoot online video content more often. I completely choke when on camera, so I need to get myself to feel comfortable in front of the lens. In photography for still shoots, I am totally fine with but video is another story.
When I received the Mode opportunity, I was initially hesitant to accept, but I thought it would be a good chance for me to test out the waters. It was an online commercial, for Home Depot’s new Pergo Outlast + Flooring. Originally, I was meant to use my own two dogs, but we thought Doozer here would make more of an impression, and he totally did!
I have to say, when I arrived on location, and saw how big he actually was, I was a bit nervous. I wasn’t afraid of him, but rather shocked at just how big he was. I mean, he’s bigger than my children! As it turned out, he was the sweetest dog, and a really awesome co-host. I think once we started shooting, I was more at ease.
So there you have it, my commercial debut!

Oh my gosh – I can relate. I hate being on camera and the sound of my own voice. You did great though and that dog is adorable!
You were fabulous! And I love the floors too – we are talking about ripping out our carpet and putting down wood – you have inspired me to look at Pergo. 🙂
You were so great- a natural! And seriously with two dogs of my own who have massacred my floors- I might need to investigate this Pergo flooring!
You did great!
You look great and natural. Congratulations. And this dog, OMG! I want one. 🙂
