Sunday Styles: Van Der Harten Kids

For the end of a chilly but lovely weekend, I am excited to introduce this weeks’ Sunday Style, Van Der Harten Kids, or vdH KIDS!

vdH KIDS is a girls line made right here in New York City! Meghan designs all pieces in her line from sketches that are created in her apartment, which also serves as the location where she crafts the final product. Yep, in her one bedroom apartment. That’s NYC for ya.

The custom shirts are all hand-painted and embroidered, and hold up to regular wash cycles. All of the fabrics including solid-color pieces, are made entirely from bamboo-blend jersey that comes from Mood fabrics found right in the heart of the garment center. Bamboo is sustainable, antimicrobial (good for allergies), super soft, and super durable (it’s been toddler tested – rigorously).

The girls are wearing vdH’s newest Valentine’s Day collection. For Siella, we paired the Long Sleeve Drop Shoulder top with Splatter Paint Leggings. It even comes with a fun matching head band. Gemma’s rocking the same top in heather gray, with this Twirl Skirt. All of the pieces are so super soft and comfy, that they’ve already worn them multiple times to school.

Oh yeah, you may be wondering what “van der Harten” means. It just so happens that Meghan’s great grandmother’s last name translates to “from the heart.” How appropriate!
