Labor Day BBQ Essentials

Labor Day Weekend isn’t too far away now! We’ll be hosting this year and while we typically make the hot dogs and classic burgers for a Labor Day cookout, we need a revamp in the essentials. A good hostess has the items needed for the ultimate BBQ grilling experience. We have a bunch of Labor Day recipes on the blog so the last thing we need is to not be prepared to grill! The guest list is made and it is the perfect time to get organized for the long weekend and unofficial end of summer. It’s a national holiday and we are celebrating in a great way! By spending time with friends and enjoying a Labor Day menu.

Grilling Essentials

Firstly, we are using the grill as much as possible before the summer ends. We don’t get to use it much after the beginning of September. So Labor Day festivities are our final celebration. Next summer, we vow to use it even more! Of course we have foil packs and a grill pan but there is so much more that is not necessarily needed for Labor Day BBQ ideas. But they can be helpful with the grilling process. One recommendation is always a good grill brush. This is key to keeping the space clean and fresh for the next time you grill. When you are cooking things from a pork shoulder to juicy burgers and bell peppers, there’s a lot of flavors going on. There’s something about cooking raw meat that makes me feel like I need to be extra clean in my space. Check in with whoever mans the grill and see what will make the long weekend of grilling even better!

Serveware

Secondly, we love decorative serveware. It’s no secret that we like to decorate and if we hare hosting a Labor Day party. You already know we are going to have fun side dishes, stunning pitchers and the cutest napkins in town. We’re pairing smoky flavor with fun serveware to take our gathering to the next level. Some things we have from the Fourth of July weekend that will work here. If you’re into paper and recycled plastic items for easy cleanup, this is the holiday to do that for. We have a few main dishes, side dishes and Labor Day dessert options to make. These need to have their own spots on the table and the serveware can make dining more simple.

Practical Items

Finally, we like to find more items we can use for a few different occasions to get the use out of them. A summer themed pitcher will work well or patriotic items can also work for this holiday, the Fourth and Memorial Day Weekend. There’s always a way to find practical uses for your grilling essentials. One thing that is not in the food category that we find to actually be practical is lawn games. We need to have something to keep everyone entertained and beyond pool floats for the hot weekend, lawn games are a great way to come together.
