Once school lets out, the Fourth of July comes up pretty quickly! We usually throw a Fourth of July party and are always looking for patriotic desserts and Fourth of July recipes for our backyard bbq. There’s no better way to spend the holiday, than with family, friends and a great Fourth of July menu. There are plenty of ideas for backyard barbecues and we’re excited to share a few of our favorites that we have on our menu for this upcoming holiday weekend. Pick your party favorite or try them all! Here are the best Independence Day recipes to make this year.
Ina’s Potato Salad
We love Ina Garten and potato salad is always a crowd pleaser. This is more of a chic potato salad and works for vegetarian options as well.
Patriotic Berry Trifle
We have to do a trifle every year! These are the perfect July 4th recipes because they are so patriotic. Then colors of the berries are stunning and the ingredients are picky friendly. It’s the perfect dessert.
Mediterranean Orzo Salad
This is more my speed! I love all things Mediterranean and this salad is so fresh. Make it as side dishes or an appetizer.
Crab Cake Sliders
I’ve never seen these before and I am upset that I didn’t come up with these myself! Summer is our favorite time to make fish recipes and for anyone looking to maybe steer free from typical grilling recipes, this is a great option. They aren’t too fishy and you can add whatever toppings you’d like. Even enjoy them without a bun if you’d like!
Peach Cobbler
There’s something about cobbler that feels very American. Peaches are a great summer fruit and this dessert recipe isn’t too sweet. We love pairing this with vanilla ice cream for the best 4th of July bite.
Blueberry Pie
Another fantastic and patriotic dessert option is blueberry pie. Who doesn’t love blueberry pie? We practically crave fresh berries in the summertime and this pie will be the best addition to any backyard party.
Grilled Corn with Lime Butter
You have to do grilled corn! But have you tried it with lime juice in the butter? It gives it the perfect citrus kick and adds an incredible amount of flavor. We can almost guarantee this will be the best side dish you make.
Lobster Roll
Bring on the lobster rolls! Bonus points if you grill the lobster and the bun a bit. This is how you enjoy summer.
Barbecue Ribs
Here is a classic grilling option. It’s the perfect excuse to light up the grill all day and you can choose a few different bbq sauce options for your guests to dip these in.
Buffalo Puppies
We’ve heard of hush puppies, but buffalo puppies are different and have so much more flavor. They’re great for side dishes and honestly the kids love them.
Tomato Grilled Cheese
We haven’t served grilled cheese before but there’s something about the thought of putting these on the actual grill this summer that is making us hungry! The tomato adds the perfect amount of flavor and texture.
Melon Caprese Skewers
Here’s a super fresh option if you don’t want to do a fruit salad. The flavors pair well and they look stunning on the table.
Parmesan Pretzel Dogs
A twist on the classic hot dog is always welcome. Swap out the typical bun for a parmesan pretzel bun and you are all set for the best main dish. We recommend splitting the hot dog down the middle for good grill marks.
Grilled Peach and Prosciutto Pizza
Have you ever made a pizza on the grill? Now is the time to try! This is a great pizza option that is not a typical cheese pie. The sweet peach with the salty prosciutto and cheese are the ultimate flavor combination.
Classic Burgers
Finally, you have to do some classic burgers for your guests! Find a few cheese options to make these a bit different and make that crowd pleasing grilled dish!
