It seems like this year we’ve had the longest and coldest winter ever. Yesterday, also the second day of spring, we were faced with the fourth Nor’easter in just three weeks. I do love watching the snow come down at first, but I think it’s save to say, I am officially over it at this point. With the kids schools closed yesterday for the storm, I thought they would be dying to get outside and play in it, but to my surprise they opted for a cozy movie day instead. I didn’t argue one bit with that!
While cozied up indoors, I started browsing through our summer photos from last year. We spent so many days at the beach, it was probably one of the best summers yet. During the summer months, we love to head out to Hamptons or the North Fork. It’s really become my happy place! We have tons of friends out there, and it’s a yearly tradition for us. Plus, the kids look so forward to it! The Eastern End of Long Island does not have many hotels, so for our family of five, we usually rent a home for the week on HomeAway. This was our home last year we found on HomeAway. Located in Southampton, it was three bedrooms, right on the bay, we were able to paddle board and fish from our private dock. It was so perfect!
HomeAway has been our website of choice for when booking rental homes for our family. With more than 2 million unique places to stay, HomeAway is truly committed to helping families find the perfect vacation rental to create unforgettable travel experiences together.
Our family just loves the ease of having a home rather than a hotel room. Coming from a NYC apartment, our children enjoy being able to have their own bedroom, and even having a multi level home is super exciting to them. For Jason and I, we love using HomeAway for our getaways because it’s more cost effective compared to a hotel room, there’s definitely way more space, having a kitchen is always key, and I love that we can bring our pups along too!
HomeAway makes it easy to list and find your “favorite places” to stay organize while browsing through properties. There’s a ton of destinations on my bucket list this summer. I know we won’t make it to all of them, but I really did get lost in wanderlust yesterday while dreaming of our summer plans. Here are some of my favorites!
Montauk, New York:
This Waterfront Cottage in Montauk is located on bucolic Fort Pond is as close as it gets to perfection!
San Diego, California:
This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home consists of a 2B/2B cottage and a detached 1 bedroom guesthouse and is located just a short block from Marine Street Beach, a stretch of beautiful white sand beach just south of La Jolla Cove.
Hilton Head, South Carolina:
Welcome to 46 Lagoon Road in North Forest Beach! A completely renovated 3 bed/2 bath single story home that is only a short 4 minute walk to the beach and Coligny Plaza.
Paris, France:
In a private courtyard, this photographer’s loft on 160 sqmeters has a private terrace with bamboo is comfortable with a big open space, and perfect for families and children.
Greenport, New York:
This home features 110 feet of private beach Peconic Bay frontage. Panoramic views of Pipes Cove, Shelter Island, the shores of Greenport to the Hamlet of Orient. And my favorite it is just $262 average cost per night!
Cape May, New Jersey:
Relax in this beautifully remodeled and spacious 3-bedroom home on the first floor of a historic Victorian home built in 1910.
Browsing through HomeAway rentals yesterday was just the cure for my winter blues. Now the question is, where we will travel to this summer! I cannot wait to show Jason my picks and see where we end up!
What are your travel plans this summer? Have you tried HomeAway for your getaways?

Looks like a wonderful way to book our next vacation home! It is now time to get planning yay!
Would be great to have your traveling plan ready ahead of time from the place to stay in and the activities too! Its spring and its a perfect time to go outside and enjoy the beauty of the environment!
These all look like really great places to stay at and relax for a bit. I do really wish the weather would warm up a bit so we could start going outside and doing stuff a bit more.
These all look like super fantastic and relaxing places to stay! I can’t wait for summer to come so that I can take advantage of the nice weather and travel!
I am so undecided on where to travel to for our last family vacation while all three kiddos are still home. This has helped give me some ideas.
We haven’t traveled for about two years now due to my high-risk pregnancy and now 19-month-old twins. But I’m getting the itch! Have not used home away, but it looks like a great option!
They all look like such amazing getaways! I appreciate the opportunity to stay in a house, rather than a hotel room. With a family of five, a little elbow room is always appreciated.
If I am traveling with the entire family (including grandchildren) and I would get offered an opportunity to rent a house instead of a hotel room, I would! For me, it would be more comfortable and would allow me (us) more freedom when it comes to meals. I love to stay in a house on the waterfront. Such a lovely view and so many activities to do!
Wow, these homes are some really enticing vacation options. We also like renting a home or apartment when we travel. It’s nice to wake up and make your own coffee. It gives you a broader sense of a place.
This place looks so awesome. We may consider visiting it for a weekend. Thanks for sharing.
