Celebrating 30 years of Cabbage Patch Kids

My family and I celebrated the Cabbage Patch Kids 3Oth birthday at an event this past weekend. The Cabbage Patch Kids were a huge part of my childhood, so it was so amazing to share this experience with my kids. I remember my parents going to Toys R Us during Christmas time one year and waiting in crazy lines just to get my sister and I our very own doll. Little did we know 30 years later that my kids would be playing with the same iconic dolls. I will never forget a childhood friend of mine, Kim always wanted to have Xavier Roberts tattooed on her butt the same way the CPK had! (Not joking!)

At the event the kids were able to “adopt” and pick out their own doll from the nursery. Might I add they still have the baby powder scent! The only thing that seemed to have changed is their hair. Then they were able to take the oath of adoption, learn how to care for their baby, and meet a new addition called Cabbage Patch Cuties.

The CP kids have become part of American culture with 130 million adoptions. To celebrate their 30^th birthday JAKKS Pacific launched a line called The Cabbage Patch Celebration Kids. Dressed in fun, playful, party themed fashions with brightly colored hair streaks, the Kids are ready to party!  Always fashion forward, each girl also comes with a sweet cupcake comb and each boy comes with a pair of stylish glasses. Each ‘Kid comes with the iconic baby a one-of-a-kind name, adoption papers and birth certificate!

Cabbage Patch Kids Babies come with either a magic disappearing–milk bottle or food bowl with spoon, removable bib and fashion. Another addition, The Cabbage Patch Kids Cuties are even cuddlier!  The adorable Cuties come in a variety of precious animal themes including bear, bunny and kitty with a new thumb-sucking feature.
