The past week NYC has consisted of frigid temps, crazy wind chills, and ice. I typically don’t mind the winter, but the streets have been so gloomy that the kids really have no desire to head outside, and quite frankly, it’s become a little depressing. To get away from the cold, Jason and I are planning a trip to California over the next month. With all his travel to LA, it seems like he spends more time there than home in NY, so the kids are excited to see where daddy always goes to make the donuts. I can’t help think that the trip would be part of his master plan to move out there, after subtle hints that he’s dropped now and again.
Naturally, my first move in preparation for a trip to the warmer weather was picking up some outfits for the kids . Their closets are overflowing with winter gear, and so they definitely needed a little something for that 85 degree weather. For me, there is no better place to shop than H&M. With their fashion forward pieces to their everyday basics, I adore everything they offer for all three of my children. This season, H&M’s focus is trend driven, including lots of brights, florals, colored denim, and layering pieces. I couldn’t resist these lemon yellow dresses for the girls. At this point, they are almost the same size, so it makes it much easier to just pick up two of everything for them. Growing up, I remember never wanting to match my sister, but my girls love it.
Ryder doesn’t seem to have an opinion about what he wears. Each day, I lay out his outfit which he seems to agree to, usually without a fuss, but, the one thing he did flip over were these adorable “shark” hi-top sneakers and baseball cap. H&M consistently does such a great job when designing fun kicks for the kids. All of their hi-tops are pre-laced making it super easy for youngsters to take on and off.
Next, I couldn’t resist these light-weight pink “Be Happy” sweaters and cat leggings. These leggings have become a staple in their wardrobe rotation, and I sort of want them for myself. The cat design is made with faux leather, and when worn with black boots, they almost give an illusion of an over the knee boot. They are just too cute, and and can easily transition from winter to spring sessions!
Starting Thursday February 19th, H&M will be offering Buy 1, Get 50% off on all kids denim, like the blue pair Ryder is wearing. I plan to stock up, to be ready for the warm west coast weather. If you find yourself in need a little dose of warm too, I promise you H&M’s retail therapy will quell your winter blues.
Thank you H&M for sponsoring this post.
