Baking Up Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month which means Bake It Happen 2019 is here, and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of it for the fifth year in a row. As you may or may not know, this wonderful campaign was started by my friend, Shari, of My Judy The Foodie and her sister, Stacy. Together, they founded Bake It Happen as a way to raise awareness of and find a cure for Metastatic Breast Cancer, or MBC. They lost their mother Judy to the disease, and they wanted to find a way to honor her and help save other families from the pain of losing a family member to this terrible disease.

Because Judy was a baker, it seemed only natural that Shari and Stay would found Bake It Happen, a campaign to raise awareness about MBC through baking, their mom’s passion. This wonderful initiative is a beautiful tribute to their mother and a way to raise awareness that I think Judy would have truly appreciated.

Bake It Happen is all about fighting breast cancer through baking. You bake and share your baked goods, and the organization donates money to help fight Metastatic Breast Cancer. Participants bake up batches of delicious treats and share them with friends, family, or even strangers. Then, they post photos of the experience to Facebook, Instagram, or email the photos. For every photo shared, Bake It Happen donates $5 to The Cancer Couch Foundation. For easy no bake oreo cheesecake bites check out this recipe! If you’re looking for something savory to bake up, these homemade heart hot pockets are super cute!

To share on Facebook, tag @ubakeithappen and use the hashtag #bakeithappen.

Instagram posts should tag @bakeithappen00 and use the hashtag #bakeithappen.

Finally, you can email your photos to [email protected]

If you do not want to bake or have the time, you CAN donate directly, to the www.bakeithappen.net/donate and Bake It Happen will DOUBLE everything to the Cancer Couch Foundation!

Please, join me in the fight against Metastatic Breast Cancer by baking up some delicious treats! Don’t forget to share on social media using the relevant hashtags to help raise money and awareness to fight this horrible disease. You don’t have to be a local to help, so bake away and share those photos. Happy baking friends! 1. What a wonderful cause to support! My mother in law also lost her life to breast cancer…. the more awareness we can raise and research to find better treatments and help those battling cancer is so important! xoxoxo

  2. I love that they have a month dedicated to this. It is so wonderful. I like that you’re baking as well. That is so great!

  3. Five years and counting and we continue to raise funds together for MBC research. Thank you Stroller in the City for another year and a great post. ?

  4. This is a wonderful cause. Breast cancer is the most common cancer for women and why isn’t there a cure already? I have a friend battling it for the second time.
