Shopping In Support Of Breast Cancer Awareness

October is breast cancer awareness month. This is a cause very cause to my heart, as I have had close loved ones diagnosed with breast cancer. Last year I had the honor of being an ambassador to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. 1 in 8 will be diagnosed with breast cancer. I want to always be an ally to all the victims, survivors, and family members effected by this disease. Finding a cure is an ongoing effort.

Year by year, story by story, and dollar by dollar, the efforts of fundraisers save lives. When shopping for products that support fundraising efforts your’e helping us all get closer to a cure. It’s an exciting and joyous way to shop in support and we’ve rounded up a few of our favs from below!

Ways You Can Help!

Participate in a race! The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® is an education and fundraising event for breast cancer. The series of 5K runs and fitness walks raises significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors that who have lost their battle with the disease.

Buy A Headband!

Shop At Silk & Salt

20% of the proceeds from Silk & Salt’s “PINK” collection will be donated to Fighting Pretty. Since 2013, Fighting Pretty has impacted over 17,000 women battling all types of cancer, all over the world. By sending mini gloves, beauty products, and inspirational notes, they made an incredible impact to remind women they are strong and beautiful no matter if they have hair, eyelashes, breasts, or not.

Bake It Happen!

As you may or may not know, this wonderful campaign was started by my friend, Shari, of My Judy The Foodie and her sister, Stacy. Together, they founded Bake It Happen as a way to raise awareness of and find a cure for Metastatic Breast Cancer, or MBC. They lost their mother Judy to the disease, and they wanted to find a way to honor her and help save other families from the pain of losing a family member to this terrible disease. This year’s campaign is donation-only. However, they do showcase ALL of the recipes from our past campaigns so that you may also bake and enjoy all year long!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 10% of all proceeds from our Pink Crystal Knotted Headband will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

  1. It’s so great to see so many companies willing to donate some of their earnings to these great causes. I’ve never heard of Bake It Happen before, but I’m going to look into it as a food blogger, it would be perfect for me!

  2. this is a great initiative to spread awareness to increase attention to the disease, early detection, advancing scientific research and supporting the treatment and care of those affected by breast cancer
