As the holiday season approaches, I can’t seem to keep our hectic schedules in check. With Ryder finishing soccer and starting basketball, his Christmas pageant practice, holiday shopping, Siella’s school functions and Jason away until next Tuesday, I am back in survival mode every day. Just last week, at the end of an epic day, Siella reminded me about her school bake sale the following day. Completely panicked with laundry and a work deadline pending that evening, I didn’t know when I would find the time to bake something.
Fortunately, I had some cake mix in the cabinet, and decided to use my newest cooking device, the De’Longhi MultiFry, which turned out to be a lifesaver. The girls get excited to bake, so naturally they wanted to help. We mixed up the ingredients on the box, poured them right into the cooker, and in 20 minutes, it was done. No pre-heating my oven, no messy cleanup, and we didn’t even need to use oven mitts, or dig out the cake pans from the back of the cabinets. The Surround Cooking System allows the cake to cook evenly throughout, without leaving any gooey spots, but still managed to keep it fluffy, just as a cake should be. By far, the simplest and easiest cake that I’ve ever baked.
Since baking my cake, I’ve used my De’Longhi Multifry, a few times for roasted veggies, potatoes, and even a whole chicken. With the automatic mixing paddle, the cooker has been a great time saver, alleviating the time spent mixing, or flipping things for even cooking. And, the constant stirring utilizes less oil, resulting in healthier foods when frying, sautéing or roasting your many recipes. Plus it has such a large capacity, I can cook enough food to even storage leftovers for the following weeks.
Thinking back, I dodged a bullet with the cake. What could have been a disastrous evening, was saved by the Multifry. At only $249.00, you can purchase one directly here. And the MultiFry also has an app to have access to dozens of recipes. I’m pretty sure I know how I will be doing all my holiday baking!
