Child birth is the one of the most compelling times in your life. I remember vividly each one of my children’s births; all so different, yet equally joyous. I was fortunate enough to experience on three separate occasions. It’s funny how I can remember so clearly each birth, and each time a sibling met one another for the first time, but the rest of the time spent in the hospital are a total blur. In fact, looking through all of the photos from each birth, it seems I hardly have any on the days we came home.
Ryder 08.20.08I was recently chatting with a soon to be new mama, when she asked me how I took my children home from the hospital. It took me a while to remember, but I recalled that two were actually transported in a New York City yellow taxi. When we had Ryder, we didn’t own a car, and there was no choice to take a taxi home from the hospital. After 5 days in the hospital following my C section, I couldn’t wait to get home, and start my journey into motherhood. Traveling home from the hospital was always the furtherest thing on my mind, and it left us scrambling the final hours in the hospital all three times. Everything had been timed and planned except transportation. Bringing a new baby home from the hospital is both an exciting and stressful experience, and it can be a bit more complicated for families who do not own a car, especially during the cold winter months.
Siella 06.16.11This holiday season, I am happy to announce Diapers.com is giving new mamas a personal ride experience with their Baby’s First Ride Home Program. New York City families that welcome newborns in the month of December can receive a free ride, compliments of Diapers.com, to transport their most precious gift home. They understand additional challenge for new moms, and they want to be of assistance from the very start.
On their day of discharge, Parents interested in the program can contact the Diapers.com 24/7 customer care team at 1-800-DIAPERS, to receive a $50 Lyft credit to use towards baby’s first journey home. Participants are responsible for requesting rides home through the Lyft app. Program details and specific instructions can be found at www.diapers.com/babysfirstridehome.
In addition, new moms throughout the U.S. can experience the convenience of $10 off their first case of diapers plus $5 off all future cases through March 31, 2015 with code GIMMEFIVE at checkout.
