We’ve done a lot of classes this summer for exercise and as we enter a new season, it’s time for at home workouts. With our busy schedules between school and work, at home programs and classes are going to be our go-to fitness options.

We’ve done a huge search for the best home gym equipment that’s practical for daily sue. Beyond an exercise mat and a foam roller, our fitness goals include proper form and we need the items to help with that. If you have a gym membership and want to work out at home a couple days a week, too these items are a great addition. These are our favorite fitness equipment items for a full-body workout in small spaces.
Body Weight Workouts
Firstly, if you live in an apartment or don’t have a lot of dedicated space to at home exercise, we have the perfect gym items for you. Everything can focus more on body weight rather than having something like a stationary bike. Opt for smaller free weights if you want to have a bit more to lift. Here, we don’t have much space so things like yoga mats for a dedicated space work. We like using ankle or wrist weights for these workouts as well.
Resistance Training
Secondly, a great tool to have on hand are resistance bands. They come in a variety of sizes and resistance levels. Something you might not realize is that they can be used in endless ways. These can be put on the legs for squats, on the arms for arm resistance in tons of ways and so much more.
These are a good choice to target different muscle groups and are smaller pieces of exercise equipment to keep on hand. I love these for a 20-minute home workout. They add a little creativity from the comfort of your home and are the best budget find too. Use these for any type of exercise!
Easy Storage
Finally, we need items that are simple to store in a smaller space. With limited space in New York City, our exercise area is our living area. We use all of our available space and found only items for home use that work within this space. I love how small the items are yet, they are so effective. This isn’t the time to get heavier weights. But consistency is always key when it comes to at home workouts.
Core exercise can be done with minimal items for a home workout routine. Some of the best treadmills are walking pads that just slide under the couch our your bed. One great thing about your workout space is you can make it any way you’d like. We like going for a versatile piece of equipment because these are items that work for multiple workout routines or online classes that can be used in tons of different ways. Everything stores the corner of our closet and virtually takes up no space so it’s all a win in our book.
