April showers brings May flowers, but they also bring Muddy Puddles! April 1st might be a day filled of laughter and playing pranks, but did you know it is also Muddy Puddles Day? The Muddy Puddles Project is a celebration of children and encourages parents and children to celebrate childhood!
After losing their little one Ty, to a battle with brain cancer at the age of 5, parents Cindy and Lou Campbell started the Muddy Puddles Project as a fundraising platform for the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation! The TLC Foundation supports childhood cancer research by funding the Weill Cornell Medicine specific to rare pediatric brain tumors. The Muddy Puddles Project is such a positive message that has evolved out of a heartbreaking devastation, and has positively benefited children with cancer! ย In 2017, The Muddy Puddles Project became the official charity partner of Peppa Pig, enabling the nonprofit to meet more families, far and wide, and raise awareness for childhood cancer.
Cindy Campbell encourages parents all over to relish those childhood memories and to allow your little ones to have their kid moments! Ty’s wish once he felt better was simply to jump in a muddy puddle! This telling moment sparked the Muddy Puddles project, hoping for parents to allow kids to be kids, get messy, and have fun without sweating the small stuff!
Throughout the entire month of April there are ways to support, help, and encourage children diagnosed with cancer, through the Muddy Puddles Project. Follow along, participate in, and/or upload your journey to Muddy Puddles through their Facebook Pageย and Instagram Account.
You can host your ownย Welly Walk Fundraiser. For a Welly Walk, kids are simply invited to wear their rain gear either to school, or on an outing, while they take a walk around learning about nature! It’s that simple. Kid’s are encouraged to wear their gear and enjoy the outdoors in honor of all the children who are battling cancer and cannot enjoy these simple pleasures. By signing up, you will automatically be entered to win a personal visit with Peppa Pig herself!
Follow along their social media channels be sure to tag your muddy pictures throughout April with #SperrySplash and #muddypuddlesday!

This is so precious! I had no idea this existed but Iโm sooooo glad it does. The playful spirit of a child should DEFINITELY be celebrated!
This is such a great idea! So cool that the kids can get excited and participate in this too.

you take such great photos. Thanks for sharing this cause and bringing awareness to it.
Playing in the rain can be fun but the kids should have the right gear so they wonโt get flu or any infectious diseases. Stay dry after!
