A Swing Story

I have a special place in my heart for the Nuna LEAF Baby Seat. I remember the first time I discovered it at a blogger event a few years ago. I was there working with infant Gemma in tow and she kind of hit her limit. Fussiness, crankiness, you know the signs of an infant who is on the verge of meltdown. The Nuna rep noticed my distress and basically scooped Gemma up and placed her in the Nuna LEAF. Within minutes Gemma was soothed and pleasant. I was ready to grab the floor model and run for the exits right then! Needless to say we got a LEAF of our own and Gemma was in her happy place every time she sat in it. Siella and Ryder would even sneak in and hang out from time to time. Luckily the LEAF can hold up to 130 pounds so my kids can probably STILL squeeze in it without fear of the contraption buckling under their weight.

The Nuna Leaf is exceptional in that it is completely noise-free and motor-free but still moves to sooth. Gemma was a little sensitive to the steady vibration and up and down motion of some bouncers so the fact that the LEAF maintained motion for more than two minutes with a gentle push was ideal. The LEAF allowed her to relax with her own movements or play without an interruptive hum of vibration or a bouncy jerking motion. The LEAF can also lock into place for feeding.

Of all the baby seats, chairs and swings I’ve tried (the endless options in this category can be overwhelming and leave any new parent’s head spinning) the Nuna LEAF no-fuss simple design is something I would confidently recommend. I have already bought two as shower gifts for friends. The LEAF has a streamlined look with neutral color options so it will not be an oversized eye-sore in the middle of the living room and it works naturally with baby.

The Nuna brand overall has an assortment of innovative and sleek baby gear worth checking out, like the amazing Pipa Car Seat or the Sena Play Yard and I promise you will want every product because they are functional and simple and they look great, too.

  1. I’m glad to hear there is a bouncy chair that isn’t loud and overly bright. I’ve always thought the bright colours of most chairs counteract the relaxing feeling they are supposed to impart on a baby. Neutral colours and a quieter model just makes sense.

  2. Awww, such a cute baby! I love that seat. It looks like it would be perfect for babies. I wish I had one when my girls were babies.

  3. So cool, I haven’t heard of this before! Things have changed so much since I last had a baby 6 years ago…we need to buy all new items now! Love hearing about products that have been helpful. Entering the contest!

  4. What an adorable baby. My kids are in college now, but swings and baby bouncers were a very important part of their existence back in the day. I’m always amazed at the great new equipment coming out like this.
