Last weekend, I was invited to attend ENK Children’s Trade Show. Having spent years working ENK shows in my showroom days many years ago, I felt right at home walking through the doors of the Javits Center. The women’s trade show Intermezzo was happening just next door. Designers were showcasing their Spring 2016 collections, and all of them naturally, I fell in love with, especially since most of them could be worn on this hot summer day. Here are some of my favorites, featured below.
First stop was my beloved Tutu Du Monde. I’ve been collecting their dresses, tutus, and one pieces, since my girls were babies. Some pieces no longer fit the girls, but their frocks are so impressive, that I know they will be passed on to their kids, or someone special. Their mix of pastels, pinks and purples are darling, and I cannot wait to see this newest collection in stores.
Next, Peas and Queues. My favorite about their collection is the use of the same fabric prints in different styles and pieces, allowing me to coordinate the girls, without putting them in the exact same outfits. The mix of jewel tones, fun prints, and pops of yellows are definitely an eye catcher.
I think I could have stayed in the Infinity For Girls booth all day. The be achy vibe with pint sized tassel necklaces can be your one stop shop for summer cover ups, for any dreamy beach vacay. I think I told the designers several times how I wished everything on their line was available in my size.
With my boho chic personal style, I couldn’t resist a stop by Blu Pony Vintage. The designers actually scour shops and suppliers for cool, vintage fabrics, turning them into the sweetest dresses, skirts, and flutter sleeve tops.
I spotted Mermaid Hampton Company from a distance at the show, and immediately called home to my middle daughter Siella about my find. She’s only 4 years old, so I may have been a little more excited than she was, but look, mermaid tails for little girls! These tales are so different than others available, because girls can actually walk in their tails, and stand when in a pool if they’d like. I loved every color, and couldn’t wait to order one for my daughter to swim around in this summer.
Since we are talking about swimwear, Maaji makes the chicest swimwear for little girls and big girls too. I picked up a few pieces for Siella and Gemma for our pre summer trips this year, and I adore their high quality yet super fashionable designs.
The Lindsay Berns collection made me feel as if I had been whisked away to Capri Italy. The collection has the perfect mix of gingham prints, lemon and cherry accents, along with lace detailing.
Joy Folie really know how to take trends right from the runway, and turn them into pint sized shoes. I am obsessed with their high gladiator sandals, which are a must have for my girls this season, and next.
Skylar Luna makes the most comfortable PJs on the planet. Offering a modern mix of California-inspired style and feel-good fabrics, Skylar Luna is eco-friendly sleepwear, made with 100%-organic cotton, free from fire retardant chemicals.
For rainy days, Oil and Water is a must to have in your child’s wardrobe. They are guaranteed to make wet days fashionable, with their beautiful assortment of raincoats and boots, made with attention to detail.
I could probably devote five more posts to what I saw and discovered at the ENK Children’s Show. The well balanced mix of designers were inspiring and delightful, and it was great to get a peak at what we will be seeing in the stores for Spring 2016.
