Hosting a spring gathering in New York always feels special, and this year I had the joy of bringing friends together for a beautiful Easter basket–making event with Ghirardelli Chocolate Company at Il Florista. The charming space, filled with natural light and lush greenery, was the perfect backdrop for an afternoon celebrating the season. The idea was simple but magical: create Easter baskets that blended fresh spring florals with delicious chocolate treats.
Guests started by building their baskets with delicate blooms, greenery, and soft seasonal colors that instantly made everything feel like spring. The florals added such a beautiful, organic touch, turning each basket into something that felt both elegant and personal. Watching everyone get creative with their arrangements made the afternoon feel relaxed and joyful, like a true celebration of the season.
Of course, the highlight was filling those baskets with Ghirardelli’s incredible Easter chocolate lineup. From their signature chocolate squares to festive seasonal treats, the baskets quickly became the perfect mix of beauty and indulgence. The quality of Ghirardelli chocolate is always a standout rich, smooth, and instantly recognizable and it added such a fun (and delicious) element to the experience.
By the end of the event, every guest left with their own custom Easter basket filled with gorgeous florals and plenty of chocolate to enjoy at home. It was such a simple concept, but it brought so much happiness to the room. There’s something really special about creating something beautiful with friends, especially when you get to take it home and share it with your family.
It was the perfect way to welcome spring in New York surrounded by flowers, chocolate, and great company and a reminder that the best gatherings are often the sweetest ones.
