The Spookiest Halloween Decor

Spooky season will be here before we know it! Especially with shipping times, we’re trying to get ahead on halloween décor. If you know us, you know that we love to decorate for every season and holiday and a halloween celebration is no exception! We typically start with the dining room for simple switches over like candle holders and artificial pumpkins on the table. It’s a haunted haven with all of these spooky decorations this year! I’ve been looking into fun halloween centerpieces as well for the focal point of the dining table. We can take the fun outdoors, as well! Here are all the pieces we have been obsessed with for spooky season.

Interior

Firstly, there truly is so much you can do with decorations inside. Beyond black candles on the table, head into other rooms. For instance, a coffee table can have natural materials that look spooky in the living room. Spider webs, orange pumpkins and string lights on the fireplace mantel are a few ways you can decorate without it being scary halloween decorations. Some things are just too scary for us, like a few skeletons are too real.

Purple lights are a fun way to get into the holiday spirit while keeping it stylish. Use a command strip for ease of hanging decorations that are seasonal so you aren’t doing any permanent damage to your space while swapping around items. One of the simplest ways to decorate for the holiday is to keep it partially fall and partially halloween specific. For example, a spooky atmosphere doesn’t need to be all black cats and a giant spider. It can include a themed throw pillow with elements of fall foliage. The fall elements make it even easier to decorate for Thanksgiving that comes up quickly after halloween. You can do it in a budget-friendly way as well for the perfect balance between a spooky mood and autumnal energy in your space.

Exterior

Finally, let’s take things outside! We like to make a spooky scene outdoors and those pieces tend to be larger than the items we use for decorations inside. The front yard is a fun way to decorate for the trick or treaters too. Some items are only made for outdoor use as well such as a spooky wreath for the front door and door mats.

Furthermore, adding spider webs to bushes and trees are a simple way to elevate your yard and get it into the halloween mood. Bonus points for sound effects that are spooky on the big night through outdoor speakers. The best way to decorate for the season is doing it in a cohesive way. Adding outdoor pillows to a bench or rocking chair on the porch and some string lights will absolutely be enough. We always switch out our wreath seasonally and for holidays as well as our door mat, which are easy to store as well on off seasons. Determine if you want to decorate in a cute or spooky way and then do your shopping from there!
