Swaddling with Ergobaby

When becoming a parent for the first time, we all learn about the five S’s that are known to sooth a fussy baby. After having three children, I know that not every “S” works, but all three needed to be swaddled to sleep. Swaddling allows your baby to soothe and calm, giving them the same feeling as if they were still in the womb . I’ve always found that my children slept better and longer when swaddled. In fact, there is scientific proof that swaddling is one of the most gentle, effective, and beneficial practices for mothers and their children. Swaddling prevents spontaneous movements (reflex motion) that startle your little one, waking them up, and allows them to sleep longer.

I’m so excited to share that Ergobaby, my favorite brand for my baby carrier is introducing a Swaddle. The Ergobaby Swaddle has an innovative design securing your baby’s arms, while keeping hips and legs in the correct ergonomic position. The ergonomic design helps ensure that your baby sleeps longer and safer.

The Ergobaby Swaddler is easy to use and adjust for a perfect fit. This innovative design has been carefully thought out: the arm pockets secures the baby’s arms and helps to replicate the fetal arm position of “hands to heart”. Leg pouch provides easy diaper access and healthy hip positioner helps to keep baby’s hips and legs in the correct, ergonomic “frog-leg” position. The fabric is super soft and yummy made from 100% cotton knit terry, allowing to regulate the baby’s body temperature.

I fell in love with the Ergobaby Swaddler. Gemma is already a fan of being swaddled; but I thought the design and fabric were totally on point. The design allowed me to swaddle her up and know that she would be unable to wiggle her way out, as well as give me peace of mind that she was positioned correctly. The fabric is the perfect combination of lightweight cotton, yet luxe enough that I know she will be warm and cozy all night. Allowing a “good night” and for her to “sleep tight”.

The Swaddle will hit stores sometime in July 2013. It is available in two sizes: small/medium (6-12 lbs) and medium/large (12-18 lbs). For more information visit www.ergobaby.com
