Summer Camp Home Edition

This is a sponsored post by The Quaker Oats Company, all comments and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting SITC.

Summer camp at home is how we’re taking the sting out of the current situation for our three kids. Here in New York City, there are usually tons of summer camp activities for the kids to enjoy. From local day camps within the city to camps outside of the city, to sleep away camps, my kids have explored them all and have always loved going to camps during the summer. Having them learn new things and meet new people year after year has been an incredibly enriching experience for them.

Obviously, that can’t happen this summer, especially here in New York City, so we’re going to do summer camp at home to help ensure this time is still fun and exciting for them. After all, we’re getting all the family time we could ever want, so we might as well take advantage of it.

Jason and I have gone back and forth about plans for summer, should we stay in the city, rent a house somewhere, but with too many restrictions happening all over, we’ve decided to camp out at my mom’s for a few weeks this summer. She’s not too far from us, and has a huge backyard with a pool and clubhouse for the kiddies to play endlessly. I feel so fortunate we actually have that to go to this summer after following local travel rules.

We have a lot to think about for our Camp Grandma’s adventures at home, but one thing we won’t have to think about is what kind of snacks to feed the kids. We always keep Quaker Chewy Granola Bars in the house, my Mom even has a stash in her house. They’re always delicious and convenient and because they’re made with 100% whole grains, and other delicious ingredients, I feel good about giving them to the kids.

Every classic flavor of these granola bars have at least 9g of whole grains in each bar, are 100 calories or less, and have no artificial flavors or added colors. In addition, they come in a variety of delicious flavors including:

  • Chocolate Chip
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
  • Oatmeal Raisin
  • S’mores
  • PB & Marshmallow and Chocolate
  • Brownie-licious
  • Dark Chocolate Chunk

This summer, Quaker Chewy Granola Bars have an extra special place in our hearts, especially in camp situations, than these granola bars. That’s why they’ll be the cornerstone of our summer camp at home snacking!

I envision relay races, pool time, water balloon fight, s’mores making, and just making the most out of the situation!

Quaker Chewy Granola Bars hold a special place in my and many other parents’ hearts, so it’s nice to know that we hold a place in theirs, as well. This summer, Quaker Chewy is helping make summer camp at home a reality for families. 2. We love Quaker Chewy Granola Bars. I agree with you that this is something good to keep in the house for a quick and healthy snack. So far, my kids love the s’mores and the chocolate chip flavors.
