Storing winter gear, or any gear for that matter can be a challenge when you live in New York City. I love The Big Apple. I’ve been a city girl for my entire life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. That being said, it presents its own unique set of challenges. One of the biggest of those is storage. Even a “big” NYC apartment isn’t exactly overflowing with storage. There are no attics here – no giant closets. What we New Yorkers call huge, homeowners in other areas call medium at best. That’s why I had to find a different way of storing winter gear, even Christmas presents, rather than putting it in the garage like everyone else. Because we don’t have one of those.
When we decided to give our apartment a makeover, we had to figure out where to store a significant portion of our stuff. It was a process of months that began with deciding to paint the kids’ rooms and sort of expanded into the entire house without us even knowing it. That’s when we discovered Manhattan Mini Storage. We were able to store all of our things easily in our unit, and it made the makeover process so much easier. They have helpful staff and an awesome storage shuttle to help you get your stuff to their facility. Between those two things and the extra space, we had zero worries about storage while we renovated our apartment. It worked out so well, we kept a unit for other things.
There is nothing better than using Manhattan Mini Storage when you live in New York City with a family of five. Their storage units are tall enough to store our skis, and spacious enough for us to keep all of our luggage, even our winter gear like heavy coats, thicker shirts and pants, hats, scarves, and so much more. I stored it all away in their convenient boxes and took it over in their equally convenient storage shuttle. With the holidays now here, I’ve even been making weekly visits to store all of the Christmas presents I’ve been purchasing for the kiddies and family members.
Manhattan Mini Storage is super fast, convenient way to just rotate everything out for the seasons and be done with it. Everything is safe, well taken care of, and we can be confident that it will be there when we need it, and in New York City, that’s the best combo you can ask for.

Nice. I always like to have a storage spot. I tend to be a pack rat.
This is a great way to keep your apartment clutter free and it is so convenient for city dwellers. This is a good secret all Mananattanites should take advantage of.
I totally agree! A New York family must!
This looks like a great option when you’re limited on space. In the city I think it’s a must!
Finding extra storage is a must when you live in Manhattan. This sounds like a wonderful solution.
Ooh! I’m jealous of that huge storage space!!! I have no storage in my house. It’s so frustrating! Might be time to consider renting a space like this…
Definitely check out Manhattan Mini Storage! I cant imagine ever going back to not having a storage unit!
What a great option. Storage space is at a premium at home and storing stuff in the garage is not always the best option. I’m going to check out this service in my area. Great idea 🙂
Any bulky gears in the closet can be challenging when it comes to storing. This is a cool idea and can solve the problem!
Love these places when you don’t have much space in your home.
It’s always nice to have storage like this. I’m sure in the city it can be hard to have some space. I think this is such a great idea.
Its such a necessity in NYC with 3 kids!
I always wondered… my cousin lives on Amsterdam St and I always wondered about his storage. He probably has a unit. Is that an Away bag??? I adore mine.
Oh this is absolutely genius and vital for New York City living. It’s the same in Montreal – so many condos/apartments that are gorgeous but so little storage space.
Winter storage is not something people often think about. It is the best way to save money on the colder parts of the year!
It’s great that there is an option like this. It’s hard to find spaces in the house for lots of things. This is awesome!
I really love your outfit! So adorable! I have never been to NYC, it must be fun to be there during the holiday!
