Is anyone planning on a getaway for Spring Break? The kids have a week off and I’m already taking a peek at my packing list for plans for a beach vacation. Resort wear is something that I can sometimes struggle with, especially for a spring break trip. This is so much more than a straw hat and denim jacket. I find myself hurrying to figure out the warm weather trends to implement into spring break outfits. As a mom, I want to dress fun but also have some modesty, while still having cool enough outfit ideas that my girls will want to borrow. As soon as spring break plans commence, summer quickly follows suit. From shoes to dresses to coverups for the beach and pool, here are my top items to pack for your next vacation!
BeachWear
Firstly, let’s start with the category I’m wanting to shop for the most. After a winter that honestly wasn’t long, but was pretty chilly, I’m so ready to get my swimwear on! We’ve been skiing for the past few months, so this feels well deserved. I like to start by finding swimwear I will wear all summer long. Trends come and go but comfort and feeling good in your own body is important. Next, what is your itinerary? And what does your day look like? Will you have leisure days or do you have a full day planned out? If it’s more of a chill day, you can plan to wear new swimwear, a sunhat, beach bag and sunnies and you are good to go for your tropical getaway. If you have plans afterwards, maybe think about comfortable pieces that you can spend all day in. Such as wide leg pants, a beach dress or a maxi dress. Things that can be thrown over swimwear but are still vacation outfits that fit into your summer style. These can include netted and knit pieces.

Adventures
Furthermore, there are so many options for resort fashion. For example, you can be comfortable or go for trends, it’s completely up to you! Particularly, if you have a full adventure planned out, maybe opt for something fun like a vibrant print. Bright colors and fun prints scream vacation to me! Is anyone going on a cruise this summer? Cruise wear can be very comfortable because you’re on the cruise hanging out by the pool and snacking all day. Specifically, an everyday look fits really well for that type of trip! Flat sandals with a dressed up look is fun or mini dresses with a cork heel looks great! It’s your family vacation and you have to plan for your adventures. AKA pack the shoes you know you can walk in!
Dressing Up
Finally, this is also a really fun category to shop for! Evening wear feels so glamorous to me. Honestly, it might be my favorite occasion to do some shopping for because everything is so dressy and you know I love any excuse to dress up! I found a few dresses that are on the dressier side because they aren’t everyday type of outfits, but if you needed to dress them down with some flip flops, you definitely could. I love a pop of pink or dressing up knit pieces with heels. Think about your dinner plans and if you are celebrating any special occasions and then take it from there.
