Happy almost New Year, everyone! Upon reflecting on my self care over the past year, I have come to a new realization. I need to have new skincare goals as part of my new year resolutions or positive changes I’ll be making this upcoming year. I think it’s always the perfect time to reassess your skin care products but now more than ever, it’s important to take better care of your skin. We’ve all been there and not drank enough water or overdone it a little bit on our skin barrier. Goals are not easy to stick with, so I want to congratulate everyone who committed to their New Year’s resolutions this year and to those of you who tried. You should always be applauded for trying your best! Simply trying is half of the job and you should be so proud of yourself for welcoming change! So without further ado, here is my new skincare regime to welcome our common goal of healthier skin.
The whole new year, new me saying is something I’m not a huge fan of. We don’t have to change our entire world to welcome change. We can make adjustments to our lives that will help better us and that is enough to move in the right direction. Something that I’m working on this year is getting control of my skin. Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in the body. So whether it’s premature aging, sun damage, avoiding free radicals or overall health and radiant skin, we can tackle these goals together. The first step is always the hardest and it’s only up from there for your skin care routine.
Skin Type
Firstly, I am a mother and with that comes a sense of responsibility in being a role model. I have teens and tweens who are getting into skin care and wanting to learn more. Moreover, I want to take care of my skin! A lot of beauty routines these days that are popular are ones that are natural. I myself can feel insecure with sensitive skin and blemishes. A bunch of skin troubles deal with hormones, stress, diet and other outside factors so a good skincare routine will not solve everything, but it’s a great starting place to working toward beautiful skin.
Furthermore, your skin type will tell you exactly where to begin in the first place. For instance, if you have oily skin, go for gel moisturizers and stay away from oil based cleansers. Layering your products correctly is also important for not only healthy skin but as a good habit for a clear skin goal. Start from the lightest to the heaviest. So this would be facial oil towards finishing with a thick moisturizer.
Must-Have Products
Finally, enough sleep, plenty of water and probiotics are a part of essential skin health. While I am constantly searching for new products to level up my skin care resolutions, that means that I am always trying out the latest skin care trends. The beauty industry is constantly changing and finding staples for your daily routine can feel difficult. Have no fear, I have pulled my top products to tackle your skin concerns and finally achieve the skin goals you’ve been dreaming of. These are all products that I have used and can vouch for, as always. Some are pricier and some are affordable, no matter what type of skin you have, you will be able to find at least one great takeaway from this grouping.
