The other day, a friend and I were reminiscing about the days the days when I was a showroom owner. I didn’t have kids then, so I only had to worry about taking care of myself. Plenty of time for spa treatments, long workouts and yoga class, or a quick trip to the beach for some peace and quiet. So much has changed in these last seven years, and with all the joy that motherhood has offered me, I wouldn’t change it for the world. But over the past few months, I have made an effort to regain some of that sense of self, some time alone, and definitely time with Jason. Everything we do is for our children, so we sometimes forget to do things just as a couple. Since Jason travels often, we tend to spend as much time as a family as possible, leaving very little time for one another. We’ve been trying, but date nights don’t happen often enough, and if we can get out, we are both usually so exhausted, so the night doesn’t last long. We need to get back to us.
With demanding jobs and three little ones requiring constant attention, it’s no surprise that our time together suffers. In an effort to change things, we’ve mapped out a date night schedule for the next month, tired or not, we have committed to making the time to just enjoy one another and re-connect. We even made plans for a quick getaway in June, sans kids, which we’ve never experienced as parents.
As I prepare for these upcoming date nights and mini vacation, I want to feel good about myself. My calendar is chock full of gym classes, and as a pre-mother’s day gift from Jason, I have been shopping for some date night worthy outfits. While browsing the racks, I ended up in the perfume section, and stumbled upon Euphoria by Calvin Klein. I haven’t worn much perfume lately, so I had forgotten how splashing on a little scent can make you feel so good. Both sexy and sensual, Euphoria is a contrast between exotic fruits and seductive florals, which I thought compliment my wardrobe choices for our night out.
We managed to squeeze in date night this weekend. While I’m not sure if my new scent had anything to do with our fantastic evening, I can tell you that we definitely didn’t pull the plug early that night. It’s incredible what a new scent will do for your psyche.

I love this. My girl is finally old enough it’s time. I need to regain a sense of self in both definitions of the word.

Splashing on a scent can definitely lift the spirits!
