Father’s Day is nearly here and if you still need plans for a meal for that day, consider supporting a local restaurant if you live in the New York City area! Brunch is always a good idea! Just thinking about french toast, avocado toast, a bloody mary or any brunch cocktails has me excited! I may be biased, but I truly think the city has some of the very best restaurants in the world. The West Village, the East Village, Lower East Side and Upper West Side specifically have some great places to book a brunch spot. You can never go wrong with a picnic in Central Park, though!
Here are some of the very best brunch spots for Father’s Day in NYC:
Cigar Bar
This Father’s Day, Merchant’s Cigar Bar has a fantastic special featuring the Surf, Turf and Smoke. What this will include is 1 handcrafted MCB 1996 Anniversary Series Cigar, the choice of a spirit trio tasting with options which will include a Macallan Single Malt tasting, Tequila Trio tasting and the Trip Around the World Old Fashioned tasting, as well as a dinner with options such as ribeye steak, garlic-ginger prawns, deviled eggs, chocolate lava cake, a charcuterie and cheese board and so much more! This experience will be $135/person and you can book here!
Industry Kitchen
Industry Kitchen is a waterfront restaurant that has some of the most delicious options in town! This Father’s Day, they will be having a special menu in addition to their daily one, which will include Braised Short Rib Eggs Benedict, Grilled Filet Mignon and a Campfire Sundae. You’ll want to book reservations now before they fill up– by the way, the view is stunning!

Sweet Chick
I hope you’re in a chicken and waffles mood, because Sweet Chick has it all! No seriously, like every combination you can imagine! With locations in Prospect Heights, Williamsburg, Lower East Side and Long Island City, it’s impossible to not find one near you! They also offer delicious biscuit sandwiches, pancakes and shrimp and grits. This is a great spot to bring your kids to, as well, as the breakfast food is outstanding!

The Wild Son
Even simply the name of this spot feels perfect for a Father’s Day Brunch! Their brunch selection is out of this world and they have options for those who are vegetarian. Open from 9-4, this is the perfect place to brunch. They are now taking reservations, so you will want to jump on that just to be safe!

Jacob’s Pickles
If you are in the mood for comfort food, this is absolutely one of the best places to go to! They have some of the very best comfort food in the entire city and, obviously, are known for their pickles! Additionally, they have some great craft beer options. I would also suggest this place for takeout and delivery, if you aren’t in the mood to leave the house! The biscuits are a must, though!

Clinton Street Baking Company
Clinton St. Baking Co. is one of those places that I would say is a requirement to go to if you’re in the city! The food is just so good and reminds you of a great home cooked meal. Also, their Instagram photos are beyond drool-worthy! Fluffy pancakes? Yes please! I would suggest getting a pancake, waffle or burger, as that’s what they are known best for. But, they do make a mean biscuit!

Another New York City staple spot, you can get something off the best weekend brunch menu here! They are everywhere and everyone is talking about them– in the best way possible! Russ & Daughters is very well known for their bagels and spreads, which they have every option possible. If you’re looking for a good casual brunch, I highly recommend!

All the crowd pleasers, such as BBQ ribs, chicken biscuits, smoky burgers and so much more! By the way, they have delicious beignets and cocktails! Located in Battery Park City, this restaurant is open for both brunch and dinner. Moreover, they have an entire kids menu, so they’re super child friendly!

Friedmans
I love this spot because they have so many different food options to choose from and it’s definitely a place where everyone would find something they love! Another great thing is that they have plenty of outdoor seating and several locations to choose from. One more thing to note is that they do have gluten-free options and some fantastic cocktails!

Bubby’s
Father’s Day feels like such a home-cooked feeling holiday to me, so I’m going to continue on with the homey spots. This one is in Tribeca, which has a lot of things to do in the area, so a whole day could be made out of it– it happens to be not too far from Soho shopping, as well! Don’t even get me started on the desserts here, because I could go on and on for days about how outstanding they are!

Sunday in Brooklyn
Why not try Sunday in Brooklyn for a Sunday Brunch? They are located in Williamsburg and their pop up is still open in Seaport! The praline pancakes are a classic item there and they also have a cocktail and drinks menu that is amazing! A really cool dish they have is like a BEC but it has BBQ chips on it! They are full of delicious dishes!

Jack’s Wife Freda
This is definitely another popular eatery in Manhattan. With 4 locations, you are sure to find one right near your apartment with a full menu of fantastic items for the special day! You can book a reservation on Open Table, but they do give a lot of priority to open seating and first come first serve! They describe their genre of food as “South African Israeli Jewish Grandmother Cuisine” and it is just that– and perfection!

Buttermilk Channel
Here we have an iconic Brooklyn restaurant! They have weekend brunch, drinks, dessert and dinner, so there’s something for everyone here. I highly recommend a breakfast item and cocktail here, such as the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Bellini!

Sadelle’s
This brunch spot has locations all over the country- and I see why, because they are truly some one of a kind dishes! They are arguably one of the most popular restaurants in all of NYC. Although they do book on Resy 30 days out, there are always cancellations that happen, so why not give it a go?! If you’re in the mood for bagels or delicious tea-like sandwiches, I highly recommend!

Pastis
This beloved restaurant has some of the best meals you will ever try! Known for their French-flare, they are perfect for your father’s day brunch this year! Start with mimosas and get any of their egg dishes for the ultimate holiday brunch.
Ampia Rooftop
This is a place that I actually had no idea had brunch plates, but am so glad I now know! First of all, the views are phenomenal! I will say, their gnocchi is unmatched and that is for sure their signature item. Definitely book a reservation before going!

Veranda
Located downtown in Soho, Veranda has a very impressive brunch menu! Not only do they have pastries, salads and sandwiches, but they offer every brunch item you can possibly think of! Hey, you can never go wrong with an order of pancakes! I would say their fries are also impressive!

There are some absolutely amazing spots here for a meal for dad on Father’s Day. I think any father would love any of them.
Jacob’s Pickles sounds right up our alley. I can’t wait to try it!
I am hoping to visit New York next month. Even if it’s not Father’s Day I want to try some of these places. My heart goes to Tavern on the Green because of my nostalgia about Central Park in the very popular sitcom Friends.
Definitely a must visit!
