It’s almost Mother’s Day and I, myself, have been looking around for some great brunch spots in the city. There are so many things that go into booking a restaurant for Mother’s Day- we have to think about whether or not they can accommodate the amount of people coming, the type of cuisine, location and price point sometimes. Let’s be honest, we all want to make sure we are having a great meal for such a special day.
I’ve rounded up what I think are 15 of the best brunch spots to book for Mother’s Day!
Industry Kitchen
Located in The Seaport District, this waterfront restaurant has some great Mother’s Day specials to enjoy! Last year the menu included Prosciutto di Parma, Poached White Asparagus, Maine Lobster & Corn Risotto, White Chocolate Mousse Tart. I don’t know about you, but that sounds outstanding to me! Of course, they have a plethora of options such as salads and pizzas to enjoy, as well. There’s something there for everyone to enjoy, including the views! To be safe, I’d book a reservation!
Boucherie
If you’re on the hunt for a French spot, here is a fabulous option! There are four locations throughout NYC, so there’s plenty of chances to get in for Mother’s Day. They have brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks and desserts. With everything from quiche to burgers to tartes, you can have everything your heart desires. Definitely grab a reservation, though!
Laduree
Another fantastic French option, Laduree is a stunning spot to celebrate the day! They are known for their macarons, which you have to get when you go there because how could you not?! There are a couple of locations, each prettier than the next and if you would like a cute little French style brunch, this is your spot! If you can’t make it in for Mother’s Day, I suggest gifting their macarons!
Cafe d’Avignon at The Moxy Chelsea
This pop up is something you’ll definitely want to check out, especially for Mother’s Day! It’s an artisanal cafe with the yummiest food you can imagine. I would say this is definitely more of a casual spot for a mid-day pick me up, but they do have some great bites and the atmosphere is super cute! I mean, could you say no to coffee and pastries?!
Dante West Village
If you haven’t been to Dante yet, what are you waiting for? Mother’s Day is the perfect excuse to get a reservation in! The food is outstanding, the cocktails are beautifully crafted, what’s not to love? The house-made banana bread for the table is an absolute must! Book a reservation to celebrate the moms in your life!
Lure Fishbar
If seafood is your thing, you have to try Lure! They tend to have speical menus for occasions that will include items like Spring Mushroom Tartine, Seafood Frittata, Grilled Tiger Prawns, Crispy Soft-shell Crab, Ricotta & Parmesan Ravioli, and more. Desserts have included Lemon- Ricotta & Blueberry Pancakes and a Mixed Berry Tart. While reservations aren’t required, they are strongly encouraged!
Ol’Days
Ol’ Days is a farm to table restaurant located on Warren Street in Tribeca! They have some of the most delicious options to choose from and they even cater! On Mother’s Day this year, there will be live music and a free dessert for takeaway for moms! They had me at dessert, I can’t wait to stop by!
The Rockaway Hotel and Spa
Looking to plan a staycation for Mother’s Day? Or even get out of Manhattan for a few hours? Get a special Mother’s Day brunch at 11AM and 1PM!ย Maybe even make a whole night out of it and stay there and go to the spa! The menu looks amazing- there’s lobster ravioli, charcuterie boards, carving stations, sweets and so much more.
OneOneFour at Mamara Hotel
The Marmara Hotel is absolutely stunning, but they have a great restaurant and bar called OneOneFour there that is perfect for Mother’s Day! They have everything you can think of for breakfast, and of course, that can include mimosas! Maybe make a whole weekend out of it and stay at the hotel!
Sunday in Brooklyn
Located in Williamsburg, this spot is one of my favorites! I cannot stress enough how phenomenal the menu is! Both the sweet tooth and salty folks will be able to find the perfect dishes. Some honorable menu item mentions are the Sunday Pancakes and the Egg and Cheese Sandwich.
Sweet Chick
Here’s another outstanding restaurant with several locations! If you’re looking for some great comfort food, look no further! Fried chicken and waffles, cinnamon swirl pancakes-enough said. This is also a spot your kids will love, since there’s plenty of fun options.
The Wild Son
This brunch option is absolutely fantastic! The food is delicious and pretty unique, honestly. With options like blueberry corn waffles, cauliflower melts and chicken soup, you can not only expect choices you can’t get anywhere else, but everything is pretty much on the healthier side, compared to a lot of places, which is always great to find. They’re accepting reservations still!
Buvette
Buvette has been around for about 12 years now and is completely inspired by European traditions. The brunch and cocktails are so good! They have everything from waffles to toasts to croques and far beyond. If you are looking for a hip, European brunch spot for Mother’s Day, you have to check this out!
Jacob’s Pickles
I love this as a family brunch spot! There’s so much good food and it’s really filling, so you can tackle a full day of activities afterwards and feel energized. The starters are superb, the mains are even better and they have dessert! Specifically, if you love biscuits and pickles, you’ll love it here! It’s just a really great comfort food brunch all around.
Kellari Taverna
Kellari Tavernaโs spring-forward menu is the perfect way to celebrate with Mom. Kellari Tavernaโs brunch menu is the ideal mix of comfort and authenticity. The Mother’s Day special includes a three course selection of an appetizer, main course, and dessert and it is $55 per person.
Sarabeth’s
Sarabeth’s is a classic New York City brunch restaurant. They have a few locations, which is also great because you can book a reservation at whichever is closest to you. This establishment has a ton of variety in the menu, so if you are bringing a bunch of people and some of the eaters are picky, you will be totally fine here! And trust me, I’ve had just about everything on the menu and there’s nothing you can go wrong with!
Stone Park Cafe
Located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, this spot is an absolute must! It’s a nicer, more elegant option for the day, which is great because a fantastic way to start Mother’s Day is with a special brunch. They have all of the classic options on the brunch menu, so you can find just what you’re looking for!
Pardon My French
PMF is another classic NYC spot! Everything is delicious and there are plenty of mains options as well as sides to choose from. This is a modern approach to classic French cuisine located in the East Village. It’s also got a speakeasy attached, if that’s something you want to check out later on Mother’s Day! The vibes are all there!
Serra Fiorita
This is hands down one of the most beautiful brunch spots in all of New York City! It’s owned by Eataly, which is known for their Italian food- not just to eat, but shop! This is their rooftop in Flatiron! The decor is breathtaking and the food is just as good! They also have really great drinks and desserts to check out.
Nomo Kitchen
Looking for some rustic American food in Soho? You have to head to Nomo Kitchen! They have an outdoor patio, which is really appealing, especially as the weather gets warmer. How could you say no to burrata, lemon ricotta pancakes, breakfast pizza or eggs benedict? That’s right, you can’t! Book your family a reservation ASAP!
