Fall Family Fun In NYC

Well October is going to look a little different this year. With many of the halloween parades and events cancelled for 2020, families are going to have to find new ways to safely celebrate the spooky holiday. With that being said many museums and exhibits are reopening! All events are taking serious precautions to keep guest safe and healthy. I hope we can all explore these fun events safely and have some fall fun!

Intrepid Museum

The Intrepid Museum has reopened!  Help your children explore time through sea, air, and space at the Intrepid Museum.  A week long festival designed specifically for youngsters with hand on activities. Whether you’re discovering the night sky through the telescopes or watching a movie on the flight deck, you’re bound to explore the exciting roles of space & naval innovation.

Backyard At Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards is offering family fun events through October 31st. Join in for big screen movie nights, live sports, food trucks, kids activities with CAMP, outdoor soul cycle classes, and more! This is a great way to have a fun filled day while at one of New York Cities most popular sights.

Sloomoo

Slime! What kid isn’t totally obsessed with slime? Well now NYC parents can avoid the slime at home and take their families to this sensory playground totally centered around this sticky favorite. Sloomoo just recently reopened after closing its doors for the pandemic. We had visited last winter and know our family cant wait to visit again soon! Make for the best family afternoon!

Boo At The Zoo

Both the Bronx Zoo and Prospect Park Zoo are hosting Boo at the Zoo! This is the perfect event for children of all ages! The Bronx Zoo will have special events like pumpkin carvings, scavenger hunts, candy trails and more . Don’t forget to bring your costumes for animal encounters and Halloween themed educational activities. While the Prospect Park Zoo is hosting Halloween themed game and crafts! They will also be featuring a unique bat encounter for this special Halloween month!

Art On The Farm

Join this fun creative event on October 3rd. Guests will create unique arts & crafts projects while studying the local produce from this urban farm. Farming and where our food comes from can be such a fun discovery for little ones. I love the idea of making this educational lesson artful and creative!

 

The May Room

A poetic hide away on Governors Island! the is the latest installation on the island commissioned by the Trust for Governors Island. This specific building hasn’t been open to the public in over 20 years. The installation is feature both inside and outside a chapel built during World War II. This thought provoking art will captivate guests of all ages.

The Great Jack O-Lantern Blaze

If you’re feeling adventurous head north to the Hudson Valley for this seasonal fan favorite! Witness over 7,000 illuminated jack o-lanterns at this fall festival like no other. See the pumpkin carousel twirl, the pumpkin windmill whirl, or listen the the headless horseman!in measure to keeping this event safe,  advance reservations are a must and no tickets will be sold on site.

Brooklyn Boatworks

Its not winter yet! Get your kids on the water and working with their hands. Brooklyn Boatworks guides groups of children in building their very own wooden sailboats. Through STEM skills and teamwork your children will realize their boatbuilding abilities while gaining new self confidence. Sign up in advance for this 90 minute fun filled event located in at Domino Park.

Broadway Roulette Mixers

Broadway is not necessarily cancelled! With Broadway Roulette guests can enjoy a broadway experience like no other. Audiences will partake in 45 minute virtual mixers featuring broadway stars, performances, and more! All mixers are designed by interest and theme! For a girls night, enjoy the Mean Girls mixer on October 3rd. The “Strong Female Lead” mixer features some of the leading ladies from Wicked, Waitress, and West Side Story. And more! These mixers totally brings the theater into all your homes!

The Floral Escape 

The Floral Escape is an immersive, fall experience.  Get ready to let  imagination run wild with this custom floral arrangements.  The Fall Escape at Queens County Farm Museum is a series of multi-sensory floral filled installations. Plus the Queens County Farm Museum is hosting pumpkin picking, hayrides, a corn maize, food trucks, a beer garden and more. This is a must for all New York families!

Color Factory

Color factory is reopening and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Head indoors for the most exciting traveling art collaborative. Color Factory is bound to excite joy with its vibrant colors and interactive installations. Past exhibits have included scratch and sniff wall, a confetti room, a yellow ball pit, and more…

Flight Fit n’ Fun

I feel like just an image of this space would have my kids begging to go! As the weather is cooling off, Flight Fit n Fun is a great indoor activity to burn off some energy! Kids of all ages are welcome to come jump. If only one location in the NYC area, this will stay novelty for all your families.

Landmark Cruises

Landmark Cruises is an amazing activity for family members of all ages! It is a quintessential discovery of some of NYC most famous skylines and landmarks! The cruises are currently operating at 50% capacity allowing it to be a safe outing for all guests! The also offer “Kid Free” promotions making this open air fun accessible to all!
