Balancing our busy schedules with wholesome meals is much more difficult than it sounds. I must spend a fortune each week at the grocery store but at the end of our hectic days I hardly have energy to eat let alone cook elaborate meals for the whole family. A good balance of proteins, grains and veggies is essential for growing children but preparing even the simplest meals can turn into a challenge when you add after school activities and work functions. As much as I love being in the kitchen and cooking for my family, sometimes there just isn’t enough time in the day, and ordering out seems to happen much more than I would like it to.

They say it takes a village to raise a family, and I couldn’t agree more, so any type of help is welcomed in my home. We recently tried a food delivery service for our kids called Nurture Life, that is the perfect combination of nutritious, delicious and most of all—easy peasy. You simply subscribe and they deliver a week’s worth of your choice of baby, toddler, or kids meals straight to your door.

Nurture Life was created by two parents who realized how time consuming and difficult it is to make healthy meals seven days a week. Nurture Life prepares fresh, wholesome, organic, ready-to-eat meals. Their recipes are developed by a chef and pediatric dietician. The ingredients are all sourced from the best farmers and purveyors. And if you are thinking my child is a picky eater, well Nurture Life has also created classic familiar meals, like mac & cheese with cauliflower blended into the sauce. The meals are all shipped fresh, are never frozen, and just require a reheat to be ready to serve. Our box of meals came insulated so if you’re not home the meals stay chilled until you can transfer them to the refrigerator later that day. All the baby, toddler and kid food packaging is BPA-free and freezer safe and the toddler and kid food packaging is microwave and oven safe.

The plans are pretty simple: babies (from 6-12 months), toddlers (1-3 years) and kids (4 years all the way up to 14 years old). Since my three kiddies are older, they qualify for the kids meals, which are a slightly bigger portion and higher in calories for their super active bodies and rich in vitamins and minerals. Nurture Life doesn’t have to be an everyday solution, but I love using their services especially when Jason is out of town for long periods of time!

The kids love to try different combinations and having their meals planned for the whole week is such a life saver for me. I can focus on spending time with them and enjoying our mealtimes together rather than furiously cooking and cleaning a kitchen full of pots, pans and dishes. Being with my family around the dinner table laughing and catching up on our days is so important—and so is feeding them nutritious wholesome meals, but getting to do both is complete perfection for me.

  1. This is what I call a complete dinner, it has everything, it’s nutritious and I love it that it’s so quick to make 😉 Thanks for the tip!

  2. This is a new approach to ready meals. Usually they are not healthy at all. It’s good to see that there is a company who is doing healthy ready meals.

  3. I would love a food delivery service. I swear it is almost impossible to plan and cook meals when days get busy. I’ll look into this and see if they deliver to my area.

  4. Sounds like a convenient way of getting healthy food especially for a busy mom like me. I’ll have to check this out now.

  5. These look like some really great meals. They also look like they were a hit and so easy to have on the table!

  6. I’d never head of Nurture Life till now but wow, what a wonderful idea! It truly sounds like a lifesaver for parents with super busy lives but still want their children to have good, nutritious meals!

  7. Looks like this would make life so much easier for parents during the week. This is great that these are organic meals.
