One of the things I love the most about living in NYC is the abundance of kid friendly activities available. I actually kick myself when I notice that we aren’t taking full advantage of it. I have a sheet tucked in the back of my notebook, listing all the places I want to take or re-take the children to once school lets out for summer. With all of the culture at our finger tips, everyday can be an adventure. One of these recent excursions took place just last week, when my friend Julie and I took our daughters to Governors Island. Julie, or shall I say “Aunt Julie” is practically family, so its always one big playdate when we get together with our little cousin Emilia.
This year, I am savoring every day and moment Gemma is home before starting full time, 5 days a week pre-kindergarten next semester. I cherish our days together, and try to plan at least one fun and unusual activity when she is home. So for this day with her, Aunt Julie and Emilia, Governor’s Island was an easy call. With the weather finally warming up, we walked to the ferry terminal, for our first of what will probably be many quick day trips to the island for an afternoon picnic.
Gemma loved the idea of a picnic, so we packed a blanket, a bag of toys, and her scooter. Now I always keep in mind that Gemma and Emilia are total snackers, so I made sure to stock up. A new snack that actually all the kids and I have been craving these days are Pure Growth Organic.
Pure Growth Organic is a complete line of co-snacking options, meaning that kids and parents alike can share them. Some of their noshing variety includes biscuits, animal crackers, pretzels, popcorn, super chips, breakfast bars, snack mix, and oatmeal. The line is kosher, made with USDA organic ingredients, no artificial colors or flavors, no preservatives, no MSG, and 0g of trans-fat. They even offer gluten free options, which are perfect for Ryder!
I love that these snacks are a healthy options for the kids, and I can’t get over the little characters on the packages and stamped on the cookies! Some of the cool critters include Disney Characters, Paw Patrol, Lion Guard, Marvel characters, and even Minions on the packaging. I usually opt for organic foods and snacks for my children, but come to think of it, this is the first time I’ve seen an organic line made fun for kids, by incorporating the characters. Best of all, the snacks are super affordable making it easy for busy moms to put the junk food aside, and rest assured their kids are getting something good for them.
Our day on Governor’s Island was spent walking (and scooting!) all over the island, as we stumbled upon the new slide park, which scored high points with the girls. We had the best little adventure, and we are already planning another trip back after school this week, as temps are meant to hit 90!
Pure Organic Growth products can be found at Walmart and Amazon, with more retailers on the horizon in coming months. Would love to hear which Pure Organic Growth snack your child would like!

Pure Organic Growth sounds like a great line of products. It’s so important for all of us to stay away from processed junk and food that use ingredients that are tainted with chemicals and the like.
Those sound like great snacks. We’ve been trying to eat 100% organic as much as possible for a few years now, and this are a great addition to that lifestyle.
You are all always look like you’re having such a fun time! I’ve been to New York a few times but not with my child. I am always looking for kid from the activities where I live. This would be a great snack to take on the go and it looks delicious too.
We don’t have kids in our house, but this is exactly the type of snacks that we are always on the lookout for…tasty and healthy. I can’t wait to try these. Hopefully a store near me has them.
Looks like the perfect little adventures for kiddos! And looks like the tastiest snacks! We can’t go anywhere without snacks!
