Celebrating National Pretzel Day!

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting SITC.

Make time for fun. Those words sound easy enough, right? After all, we all have more time than we know what to do with currently. That said, how many of us really take advantage of that time? For entrepreneurs like me, this extra time has actually meant more work, as I hustle to keep my business afloat. The kids are inundated with homeschool assignments and classes, not to mention the added stress of cabin fever thrown into the mix. All this tends make it tricky to squeeze in anything else, but I think it’s actually the most important time to add in good ole family time.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve come up with a few simple ideas to mix up fun time. The trick is to make activities appealing to both parents and kids, which means more quality time with smiles, minus the eye-rolling or silently wishes for family time to speed by. This is key because I really want the kids look forward to time spent together, especially as they grow older.

Under normal (dare I use this word) circumstances, the five of us would seldom eat all three meals together on a given weekday. Now, we are together for all 21 meals per week! I don’t like messing around during meals and teaching them bad manners, but what about snack time. Kids love snack time, so why not spice it up with some fun. My kids are obsessed with SUPERPRETZEL, because they enjoy getting the pretzels ready for the the oven or microwave for reheating, so that gave me a great idea.

Sure, you can just add some salt and mustard, heat and eat, but why not get a little creative. We eat tons of pizza, and Siella joked about making a pizza pretzel. At first, Gemma dismissed her as being silly, but I thought it was a great idea.

We broke out the SUPERPRETZEL and all the pizza ingredients, and experimented.

What what we used:

SUPERPRETZEL Soft Pretzels

Grated Cheese

Mozzarella Cheese

Tomato Sauce

Topping: Pepperoni (optional)

Typically, kids making a mess drives me nuts, but for this project I encouraged them to get their hands dirty, and be creative. They treated the SUPERPRETZEL like a pizza dough, and started topping. Sometimes we use pepperoni or ham, but today we went traditional. Afterwards, they popped their creations into the oven at 350 degrees and waited 10 minutes.

SUPERPRETZELS have become an even bigger part of our lives than they were before, and I’m totally on board with that. They’re called “America’s favorite frozen soft pretzel”, and I believe it. I’ve always kept a box of them in our freezer, because they can be ready in seconds, the kids can pop them in the microwave themselves. SUPERPRETZEL comes in several varieties, and all of them are delicious. Made with just four simple ingredients: Flour, Water, Corn Syrup, Yeast and with only 160 calories and 5 grams of protein, these are snacks the whole family loves to enjoy! Snacking makes everything better, and these pretzels are delicious. Next time you fire up your Instacart, add some of the tasty SUPERPRETZEL varieties into your order. Oh yeah, definitely try SUPERPRETZEL newest variety Filled Soft Pretzel Bites topped and oozing with cheese, available in mozzarella, pepper jack and pub cheese. You’ll thank me later.

I have to confess, on the day we made these pizza SUPERPRETZEL we had so much fun that I cheated and let them eat their treats as their lunch. I know, I was preaching rules and manners earlier, but I guess rules are made to be broken.

Encouraging you all to celebrate National Pretzel Month all month in April, and National Pretzel Day with us on April 26th! Would love to hear about your SUPERPRETZEL creations!
