As moms, we are constantly putting ourselves on the back burner rarely taking time for ourselves, let alone making time for one another. I’ve have an on-going text message with two of my girlfriends, talking about plans to have dinner since December, yet we can’t seem to get a date on the calendar.
Two years ago, I wrote about the time I first got botox. It was the first and last treatment, not because I didn’t like it, but simply because I never had the time book an appointment. Well over the years, I’ve been vocal about this one line in particular, on my forehead. I call it my thinking line, and I am super self conscious about it. The botox definitely mitigated the line, as did other at home skin treatments I’ve tried, but at 37 years old, I’m starting to discover more lines and I’m looking for ways to prevent them from getting deeper. I truly believe that if I decided to do something about my thinking line say five years ago, it may not be as pronounced as it is today.
Last week, I hosted a Mom’s Night Out with my favorite group of influencers, at Dr. Zuckerman’s new office on the Upper East Side. Dr. Joshua D. Zuckerman, a top ranked board-certified plastic surgeon, is an expert in cosmetic surgery procedures of the breast, body and face; known for his beautiful, natural-looking results. He is a specialist in tummy tuck surgery and mommy makeover surgery (tummy tuck combined with a breast augmentation or lift) and has developed proprietary techniques over time to optimize his surgical outcomes.
Over the course of the evening, we had open conversations with Dr. Zuckerman about his procedures, and how can fix certain parts of ourselves that have drooped or changed recently. He was super easy to talk to, really relatable, and I learned so much! We all spoke about our previous Botox experiences and for some of my influencers’ cases, it was the first time for them. It was a fun night out, with some much needed mama time! While we all tend to go to events for work weekly, this evening in particular was different. We were able to talk, open up, and really enjoy one another’s company.
I decided that evening to get botox, for the lines, old and new on my forehead area. I’m typically petrified of needles, but I honestly didn’t feel a thing. You really don’t see the results for 7-10 days after the procedure, but in less than a week, I couldn’t be happier. I will for sure we visiting Dr. Zuckerman again, and hope to host more of these intimate and much needed night outs!
