America’s Big Deal is a new kind of entrepreneur show airing on USA Network. We’ve all seen shows where people pitch their idea and ask for money to invest in their product or service. The problem is that the potential investors have to determine if the product is something that can actually grow and thrive in the marketplace. For an untested product, that’s a big “if” that the investor has to take a gamble on.
America’s Big Deal is different. On this show, entrepreneurs showcase their products in real time with the help of Americans tuning in. It’s an innovative approach, and it’s all thanks to Joy Mangano. She’s an entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the marketing industry. A world renowned inventor, she began her rise through the ranks of the retail market with her first invention, the self-wringing Miracle Mop. Over the years, she’s become one of the most trusted voices in TV shopping, and she’s now using that voice to give entrepreneurs the kind of platform that she wished she had had when she started out.

So how does America’s Big Deal work? Well, it puts the entrepreneurs’ products to the test. It’s a shoppable live competition series that invites inventors from across the nation to sell their ready to ship products right on the show in real time. If viewers like the product, they can buy it through the One Platform Commerce @ NBCU. Each week, entrepreneurs will pitch their products, and whoever has the highest dollar amount in sales at the end of the show will have the opportunity to strike a once in a lifetime deal with one of the show’s retail giants QVC, HSN, Lowes, and Macy’s.
I had the chance to sit down at a virtual round table with Joy Mangano and some fellow bloggers to learn about why she thought this show was so important and so overdue. During the discussion, she shared how just a little help at the key moment can transform an idea into something that can change a life. It happened for her, and she’s decided that she wants to help others achieve that same success.
Hearing her passion for what she does and her desire to help others who want to follow suit was incredibly inspiring. This woman is a giant in the retail industry, and watching her light up as she talked about helping others get their foot in the door was absolutely inspirational. I’m extremely excited for America’s Big Deal. I’ll be watching, and I hope you will be, as well. “America’s Big Deal” finale is on Thursday, December 16 live at 9pm ET/8pm CT on USA Network!
