This past weekend NYC enjoyed incredibly warm summer-like weather and I’ll bet that a lot of you decided to go apple picking, just like we did. Now, you are probably wondering what to do with all of those apples, so below I share an easy recipe for apple pie.
8 apples – peeled and cut into wedges
Butter – about 1/2 stick
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 water
Cinnamon
1 egg
Pie crust
In saucepan: melt butter and mix in with apples. Add sugar, water, and cinnamon. Cook until apples are soft but not mushy. Pour apples into the pie shell and cover with top of pie crust. Pinch edges around and poke holes on top of pie to vent. Brush the top of pie with egg whites. Bake according to your pie crust instructions. Mine always seems to take a bit longer. Enjoy!!
