A Tree Story

Funny story, last year we decided to go to a tree farm to chop down our Christmas tree. Usually we purchase our tree from the corner stands, where the guys camp out for nearly a month and walk it home on Ryder’s scooter (not kidding). But last year, we wanted to change things up a bit and I was secretly hoping we could start yet another tradition. It was a wonderful experience for all of us, the kids loved picking out their own tree, and couldn’t believe we drove with it all the way home for over an hour on the roof top of our car. We got home, let it sit for a day before we strung it with lights and hung our hundreds of ornaments on it. But I started noticing spiders on the tree just as we were putting of the last of the decorations. I didn’t think much of it, because after all the tree did live outside up until the day before. But then I started to look closer at our beautiful tree, and I will admit I freak out over any little bug, and then saw that our tree was infested with spiders and even saw a nest. I know I’m so itching just typing this. Jason and I both looked at one another literally stripped the tree clear of our ornaments, left the lights on it, and practically threw it out the front door. It was back to the corner guys again, and we purchased yet another tree that exact same day.

So this year, it was a no brainer about where we were going for our tree, although I would still like to go back to the farm one year as I do think it was a bit of a fluke. But this year, Jason was heading back to the west coast and we wanted to be together as a family while we all decorated our tree. We put on Christmas music, the kids have hot coco, they get excited about opening up ornaments with their names on them, and of course they are dressed in jammies.

This year, I picked out these cute candy striped pajamas from Hatley. Hatley is an online boutique that specializes in clothing for the entire family. From jackets to tops to dresses to pants, Hatley has you covered. Their mission is to create fun, well designed, nature inspired apparel.

Ryder, Siella, and Gemma pajamas are made with 100% cotton rib, snug fitting, and super comfy. This year, they practically decorated the tree themselves. It’s been a joy watching them super excited about the holidays. And the best part, they are still talking about our spider tree from last year.
