This past Tuesday, I took the big kids to the the 24th Annual Bunny Hop, hosted by The Associates Committee of The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Our 2nd year in attendance,Β Sloan Kettering has always held a special place in my heart, having lost a childhood friend to cancer there, when I was in the 7th grade. Now, as a parent, I have experienced friends takingΒ their children there for treatment, and they have been extremely blessedΒ with the outcomes. It’s amazing how much theyΒ have progressed, but there is still much more research to be done, and it is extremely important to meΒ to supportΒ theΒ Pediatrics Department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
The Associates Committee understands the significance in teaching our children the importance of helping others. This year, guests were invited to have their children save their coins and bring them to the Bunny Hop to donate. My children have been collecting loose change for about a month now, and they couldn’t wait to bring it toΒ the event. With proud smiles, they poured their coins in the assorted jars, and I hope they will remember this, and always have the willingness to give back.
The Bunny Hop was sponsored by GUCCI for the second consecutive year, and was attended by a high-profile crowd of The Societyβs members and New York families. Guests sported their springtime best and enjoyed a variety of activities and entertainment, including Gucci photo booths, a live petting zoo, cupcake decorating by Tastebuds Kitchen, Magic Al, Toddβs Twisted Balloon Art, stilt walkers, face painters and more. Through a long-standing partnership between The Society and The Big Apple Circus, children also enjoyedΒ entertainment by βDoctors of Humorologyβ from Clown CareSM, Big Apple Circusβ community outreach program.
The Bunny Hop raised over $315,000 to benefit the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. For more information on the Bunny Hop & The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center visit www.mskcc.org
