Happy February everyone! Well we made it through that extra long feeling January and now making our way through winter. One thing I love about New York is that theres always plenty to do no matter the time of year. February normally calls for a lot of indoor activities and exhibits but because we’re experiencing such a mild winter I wanted to include some outdoor fun too. I know there are definitely a few events on this list my family will be checking out!
Sugar Cookie Decorating
I love a holiday themed event. It makes everything so much more festive and fun. My kids not only love helping in the kitchen but they definitely love cookies, especially decorating them! Hosted by Malibu Farms which just opened last summer at pier 17 is a gorgeous space to be decorating cookies as a family. This is an event we will definitely attending.
Swan Lake
Take the family to the New City Ballet for an international classic, Swan Lake! Its never too early to introduce our children to the more sophisticated shows written into the world of arts. Theres something magical about the music, the costumes, and the talent that can leave any child mesmerized with the ballet. Makes for an extra fancy mommy and me date!
Worlds Beyond Earth at The American Museum Of Natural History
An immersive planetarium show of worlds beyond! Witness fascinating videos and images of the latest discoveries of the solar system and its planets. Truly an incredible experience for families of all ages. I know my whole family is looking forward to checking out this super cool exhibit!
Jurassic World Live
Jurassic Park Live is coming to Barclay Center for 4 days only! This live show is bound to leave all our children fascinated with the prehistoric world and its great creatures! I’ve always loved the Jurassic Park movies and all their wonders! The show runs for 1 hour and 50 minutes with an intermission so maybe best for children 4+. Have a roaring time!
Read To Skate Story Time At Bryant Park
Start your Saturday mornings with story time and a skate session at Bryant Park. Read and sing with Cali Co Cat and then get a free skate rental for a skating session after. There are even free books while supplies last. This is a great way to continue enjoying Bank of America’s Winter Village before winter ends.
Kids Week At The Intrepid Museum
Help your children explore time through sea, air, and space at the Intrepid Museum. A week long festival designed specifically for youngsters with hand on activities. Whether you’re discovering the night sky through the telescopes or watching a movie on the flight deck, you’re bound to explore the exciting roles of space & naval innovation. Perfect way to spend that chilly mid-winter break.
Broadway Week
Take the family out for a show! Enjoy 2 for 1 tickets with exclusive broadway week codes. My kids absolutely love theater shows. Based of Chelsea Clinton’s best selling children’s book She Persisted is a sweet new musical for children 5+. Story follows Naomi as she goes on a field trip to a Women’s History Museum. Once there she time travels meeting inspirational women from different decades. A lovely experience for young girls! Shows run February 22-March 22.
Bumper Cars On Ice
Now this seems super fun! The super mild winter we’re having is allowing for more than usual winter outdoor activities. Bump and spin on the ice at Bryant Park. I know my kids would absolutely love to try this! Top it all off with a warm treat from the Winter Village vendors, and it makes for the perfect family fun!
Gazillion Bubble Show
Since my kids could basically roll over they’ve loved bubbles, and I don’t know a baby or child who doesn’t. This touring show is in its 12th successful year in NYC and I cant wait to remind all my friends to grab tickets. Its the perfect show and experience for families of all ages.
Dreamland Roller Rink
Dreamland Roller Rink is one of NYC’s newest pop ups. Located in Downtown Brooklyn at City Point, this roller rink is like no other. Their events calendar is filled with family fun themed events. Their events included a LOVE party themed skate, Sparkle Skate, Toddler skating sessions, Dazzle Disco Family, and so much more. With winter brutally headed our way, I love having more super fun indoor options for my family. I cant wait to check out Dreamland Roller Rink and lace up my skates!

This imaginative exhibit will thrill all families of all ages. Enjoy the interactive playful rooms that include a sprinkle pool, a three story slide, a pink MOSIAC subway, a magical floating sweets table, and more. Who could pass up a museum of icecream. I can always go to the Museum of Natural History and you have shown there is so much for younger kids to do during the vacation week.
