Every kid has a favorite place they love to go. Maybe your kiddo loves soccer camp or art class or dance or maybe they love their bedroom with all of their cool stuff. Siella’s favorite place is magical, where she can create and imagine and design what her heart desires. That favorite place is Jemz.
If you haven’t heard of Jemz or missed one of my many IG posts featuring designs by Siella or post, you should check it out. Jemz offers workshops and classes for art, sewing and DIY projects for kids and adults, but what they really offer is a place where kids can bring their imaginations to life. Siella has been taking sewing class there for a few years and to say she loves it is a complete understatement. And honestly, some of her designs are amazing and I would absolutely wear them in my size.
Siella wants to spend every free moment she has sewing and designing at Jemz, so naturally, we had to have her seventh birthday party (yes I am way behind writing this post) there. I love having my kids birthday parties in places they know and love so they can share it with all their friends. They feel comfortable and they are so proud to talk about their classes or creations. It makes their birthday so much more special.
Siella’s seventh birthday party was perfect. The space is so fun for kids (and adults). There are bolts of fabric, a big pool of beads and fun things to look at everywhere. We had snacks and pizza of course and the girls all created their own mermaid skirts with jewels, gems, glitter, pom-poms and beads. Each creation was unique and cool and they all totally blew me away.
The explosive candy-filled birthday cake was a huge hit (yes I made it!) and we wrapped the party up with a funny gift-wrap version of musical chairs. Siella loved sharing her special place with all her friends for her birthday party—and you know I had to drag her out of the sewing room when the party was over. Happy birthday my sweet girl!
