The Best Beach Snacks for the Summer

There is nothing like sitting on the beach with my family and friends and just enjoying each other’s time. During the summers, we are always at the beach out east, it’s one of my kids’ favorite places to be! Normally, we spend a majority of the day outside, so I was thinking I might need to find some new beach snack ideas and why not share them with you all! Here are some snacks I’ll be taking to the beach this summer!

The Basics

Sometimes I don’t have time to whip something up in the kitchen and I just need some quick grab and go items or healthy snacks. A few things I like to pack in my cooler and beach bag are raspberries, pretzels, trail mix, frozen grapes, granola bars, hummus and veggies and apples! My kids especially love the Quaker Chewy Bars, they are made with 100% whole grains and no artificial flavors, making them a staple in my household! Any fresh fruit or protein bars are some easy snacks that are a great way to stay healthy. Drinkable yogurt is usually a crowd favorite, as well. But it’s totally okay to bring a bag of potato chips or cheese sticks out there. It’s summer and we should eat what we want! I know a bag of chips are easy beach snacks and sometimes, easy is the way to go! It can also be a fun treat! Really, anything that is packable in snack bags will do the trick for a great beach snack.

Recipes:

Quesadilla

I love quesadillas as a beach snack option because they are so customizable. You really can put anything you’d like in them. Add chicken, avocado, tomato or make them vegan and vegetarian friendly! This recipe is super simple to follow and is sure to be a crowd pleaser! These are definitely one of my kids’ favorite beach snacks.

Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Here is a quick lunch idea that you can whip up in a minute and have cold, or you can put it on the stove or a panini press and enjoy it warm. Sometimes, there’s nothing like a good deli sandwich at the beach. But lately, we’ve been loving these warm with the melted cheese! This is a great choice because it will really fill you up and keep you full for awhile.

Mediterranean Farro Salad

I know what you’re thinking: a salad at the beach? This isn’t just any normal salad, it’s one of the best snacks around! Also, it’s a great choice for the beach because you need utensils to enjoy it, so sandy fingers are not an issue.

Watermelon Feta Salad

This is another fantastic salad option! It’s super refreshing and perfect for summertime. We actually love having this as a side at dinner, so it’s something we always have the ingredients for in the house. The mint adds the perfect extra flavor that will make you never want to put this down! It’s also really easy to portion out into individual servings.

Peanut Butter Sandies

You need something sweet at the beach! I don’t make the rules! These are absolutely something you need to bring to your next beach trip. Supposedly, these are the one’s at City Bakery in NYC, so we need to investigate to see if they do live up to that hype!

Everything Snack Mix

I think I can confidently say this will be one of the beach foods on repeat this entire summer! I love this recipe, a lot of these items are things you already have in your pantry, so it’s just really a matter of putting them all together. Your kids will be obsessed! This is also a good after school snack idea. Put it in a giant bowl to bring or separate it into different plastic bags for everyone to enjoy.

Cucumber Cream Cheese Sandwiches

These are pretty well known for being a classic tea time meal, but I can’t express enough how refreshing they are for the summer! It’s important to make sure we get a lot of water in our systems to stay hydrated and cucumbers are a good idea to have on hand, as they are primarily water. The cream cheese really compliments it and I think your kids will love it!

Mango Salsa

Have you ever brought salsa to your beach day? This is the perfect summer recipe and makes a fantastic snack to have with tortilla chips, pita, veggies and virtually anything you want to dip in it! Even the quesadillas from earlier! You’ll want to keep this in a cooler with ice packs, because this is definitely served best cold for those beach family days.

Personal Pizzas

Personal pizzas are such a fun thing to bring to the beach because you can put anything you want on them! Also, your kids will have so much fun making them with you! This is a great recipe because it’s not complicated and it doesn’t take that long to cook. Add cherry tomatoes for some texture on top and the whole family will enjoy them! These are a good option if you don’t have much time because you can pop them in the oven and wrap them up to go!

Frozen Yogurt Buttons

Here is another recipe that your kids will love to help you make! It’s super simple as there’s no cooking time, it’s just a matter of being patient while they freeze. Take any of your favorite yogurts to make this or make it more from scratch like this recipe to make it healthier! These are so much more fun than just freezing the yogurt tubes. It’s a healthy snack that makes for one of the best beach snacks the next time you have a fun day in the hot sun! The best part is that they are so easy to make and totally work for a lazy day beach picnic or a good choice for after camp to munch on. Keep them in the cooler for beach-friendly snacks!

Blueberry Muffins

I love making blueberry muffins for snacks, breakfast, something to have on-the-go or even dessert! They make sense for every occasion. This recipe breaks it down to make very easy and if you have any kids who like to bake, they will definitely enjoy helping you out with these!

  1. I usually take a simple, dry snack mix when I go to the beach but I like your more adventurous suggestions. The cucumber cream cheese sandwiches sound especially interesting.

  2. All of these are delicious and tasty! I think the pizza would be the best! My kids would really love that!

  3. I think nothing beats the traditional ham & cheese sandwiches for anything! I’m curious about the yoghurt buttons. They look really good, I can imagine what it tastes like. But wouldn’t it be working on the digestion and send someone to the toilet?
