Self-Care Books for Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day around the corner, we are beginning to think about great gifts for the special women in our lives. Books are always a great option and they usually ship quickly, especially with Amazon Prime. Overall, books are a great way to relax and escape the day’s reality. Not only can they be a source of comfort, but equally as a form of  self-care, which we don’t always get enough of.

Markedly, if you’re looking for a great read for yourself or the mom in your life, here’s some book categories and reading options we’ve found:

As I’ve mentioned earlier, self-care is something that gets overlooked in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Things get busy and it’s common to overlook basic self-care for ourselves, but this shouldn’t happen. It should be included in our daily routine because taking care of ourselves is not only “in style”, but it’s great for our emotional and mental health-even physical sometimes. One way we can do this is through books! Just the mere escape from reality itself is a great start, but books about meditation, daily quotes, affirmations, skincare, hair care- and so much more can really do a lot for our overall well being.

We don’t stop to think about how to take the best care of ourselves these days and that’s so important! Meditation is something I don’t know that much about, but it seems to work for quite a few people, so as I’ve conducted research, I’ve decided these few books I’ve listed could be quite helpful. Henceforth, taking even five minutes out of your day to center yourself and have a primary focus or goal for the rest of the day sounds like a great idea to me.

For the Woman Who Does It All

Finally, it’s no secret that being a mom is seriously the hardest job in the world! While we are busy taking care of other people all day, we often neglect ourselves. Basically, here is your reminder that you are important and you deserve to be taken care of, yourself! Try out one of these reads yourself or gift them to someone who does a lot for others! Let me know what you think of them!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Listen, we all need a good laugh these days after the past few years we’ve been through! This book is hilarious and full of funny trivia.
Meditation is something that I don’t think gets the attention it deserves. It can be so soothing and a great part of a daily routine for your self care, that really only takes a few minutes. This book has one meditation per day for you to practice.
I’ve heard about essential oils for cleaning and wellness, but never beauty before, so I found this read to be quite interesting! Anything that’s more natural, I love to learn about!
I think incoroporating something new every day for your self care routine can be good! Something in the familiar route, yet a new part of it, for example, a new meditation or poem for each morning to start your day.
This is a fantastic idea! I love the thought of journaling and especially with your daughters, it can help you understand each other more than maybe you would just by having a conversation.
For those looking to learn a little more about a minimalist lifestyle, check out this read! There are also daily quotes and affirmations.
This is a great read and perfect timing for spring and summer! I know I’m always looking for outdoor entertaining tips!
I love this real take on motherhood! All of the ups and downs and realness.
While we’re on the topic of the ups and downs of motherhood, I found this hilarious book. It’s got relatable anecdotes and is a great laugh at the end of the day.
This is an absolute must-read for all moms! There’s a difficulty in the balance of work vs play and spending enough time with your children and I think this outlines perfectly how to be guilt-free while doing it all.
Understanding yourself better is a beautiful thing. And I think a guided motivational journal is a great starting point. Plus, this one is so cute!
Sometimes we just need a book that gets straight to the point. This one does just that and is a quick read for those busy mamas!
A gentle, poetic read can be so nice after a long day. Moreover, it teaches that there is purpose in each and every season of one’s life and that the light will always find you, even on the darkest days.
