Personal tutoring on a personal level is a new way to help our kids be their best in school. A few weeks ago, I told you about a wonderful tutoring organization called Gooroo that was helping Ryder with his reading skills. Using their customized approach to personal tutoring, they were able to drastically improve his reading, and they made reading less of a chore for him and more of a fun thing to do. That in itself was so valuable to me.
Now that school is back in session, we’re continuing on with Gooroo for personal tutoring to help keep him on track. Over the past couple of weeks, he’s been having reading and homework sessions to help keep him sharp and focused and really absorbing what his teachers are giving him in the classroom.
The thing I’m so in love with about Gooroo is that they really take the time to understand how Ryder learns and uses that knowledge to help craft a learning routine that works best for him. These sessions aren’t just extra hours of school. Rather, they’re an after-hours scholastic reinforcement that is actually fun for Ryder. That is so important because if learning isn’t fun, children don’t absorb as much, and they learn to run in the other direction whenever anything educational comes their way.
Thanks to Gooroo’s personal tutoring with a customized approach, my son is doing better in school than he ever has before, and I really love to see that. Gooroo builds understanding, enjoyment of learning, and most importantly, confidence.

This is so great to have for kids who struggle in some subjects. Right now I’m fortunate that my big boys help their little sister with math, but there may come a time where we need a tutor.
