Who doesn’t love to dress up for the holidays? These days my girls are my personal stylist, I look for their approval to make sure I’m keeping up with the coolest and latest trends. The fashion industry knows no limits and I think the Fourth of July is a special occasion that calls for a new outfit. I’ve been looking for pieces to add to my wardrobe that are not only Americana-themed, but ideal to wear all season in the warm weather. The fashion world was very coastal grandma last summer but this summer seems to be more preppy. Online retailers are getting more cutesy and I’ve been loving all the bold colors, bows and ballet flats that have been in recent style trends. There’s no better time to shop than now, so let’s check out everything in my cart for the holiday.. and beyond!
Americana-Theme
Firstly, we had to start looking for very specific Americana pieces to wear for the holiday. I don’t find it cheesy, I actually find it super fun! I found a denim jacket that has a flag design that fits into fashion trends to wear after the holiday, too. The special night gets chilly sometimes when it comes time for the fireworks, so the universal standard allows for a jacket on this summer night. Last year’s biggest trends were stripes and while I have some options in that pattern, I’ve also been loving dainty stars and gingham. These prints look great on all body types and when I see patterns in celebrity style, I know it’s time to incorporate them into my wardrobe!
Comfy vs Dressy
Do you like to dress up for holidays? I know this is a more laid back holiday, so people like to be comfy while they hang out with family and friends and enjoy fireworks. But for those that are looking for an excuse to dress up, I’ve made sure to source some fun dresses that would also work for a date night. These won’t be red carpet looks, but sometimes putting a dress on with kitten heels or even sneakers feels more dressed up than other summer days. Especially if they’re all spent at the beach! I’ll let you in on a secret- it’s okay to bring a change of clothes! Start the day out in a fun look and then bring comfy sweats for fireworks so you can end the long day feeling great.
Price Point
Finally, this is an excuse to buy something fun for yourself but if you aren’t looking to drop $200 on a flag shirt, we totally get it! All of these pieces are in different price points and there is truly something for everyone here. From sandals to knits and pretty dresses, no matter how you want to style yourself for the holiday, you’ll be able to easily find inspiration. And for those who want to splurge on a fun piece that can be a more statement item to rock all year long, Americana never goes out of style!
