Holiday Time with RUUM {& $100 Giveaway}

I cannot believe that Christmas is only 9 days away. At first, I really thought I was prepared but now realizing we still have a bunch more to shop for. Ryder and Siella are both so excited for the holidays this year and just seeing their faces light up makes me want to do more and more holiday activities with them. Each year I add on more traditions for us, especially when it comes to visiting Santa. We see a total of four different Santa’s throughout the month, and although I would love to drop one of them, I have photos from every year with each kid (kids) and don’t want to have a gap in any of those pictures. Is that crazy?

In this post, you will see our third Santa visit this year. This Santa comes to the Financial Center by us and these pictures started when Ryder was only four months old. I mean, how can we not visit him right. But being the fashion crazy mom I am, the kids need a different dress up outfit for each Santa. These outfits are all from RUUM. I first fell in love with the company about a year ago, and have been loving their designs since. RUUM American Kid’s Wear celebrates playful kids who are excited about expressing themselves through their clothing choices. With fun and exciting children’s clothes for boys, girls, toddlers and babies, there’s something for everyone in our house. And my fav, I could coordinate them.

  1. Our favorite tradition is getting all bundled up and going to chop down our Christmas tree, then coming home and decorating it while listening to Christmas music and sipping hot cocoa. We also LOVED taking our son to see Santa. {Too cute for words} This year is my son’s first Christmas so honestly every little moment is my favorite. 🙂

  2. My favorite tradition is when we get each one an ornament that we feel represents them. They love this and we love to see how happy they are!

  3. My favorite tradition — so far! — is taking all the kids and going to get the Christmas tree. We always get a photo taken, and it’s so much fun.

  4. We don’t have a tradition yet. This is our little man’s first real Christmas (he’s one). We are excited to make our traditions. Love all the ideas from other moms. 🙂

  5. My favorite holiday tradition is taking the girls to dinner in Brooklyn and then walking through diker heights to enjoy all of the beautiful Christmas lights displays!!

  6. the week before the holiday we take out that holidays box with themed books, crafts and toys and every night leading up to the holiday we take out 1 or 2 things to do

  7. Ultimate fave family tradition is Treasure Hunts on Christmas Day. It’s such a competition to see who gets their gift first that are no rules. We all have a love hate relationship with them.

  8. I don’t think it’s crazy that you carry on your Santa tradition – I think it’s AWESOME! Your kiddos will so appreciate the care you took in making Christmas time special. I think it’s beautiful! I love making tons of fudge every year (enough to give the entire neighborhood diabetes!). I also love making gingerbread house, decorating, watching the kids school performances, being with family. Lots’ of things! This giveaway is great! The kids look so cute and the coordinate outfits are adorable. I would love to shop for my kiddos at RUUM – I never have!

  9. Since our daughter is only 2, and we spent our first Christmas overseas, we are still establishing our traditions, but my favorite is baking with her. This is something I know we will do every year!

  10. My favorite Christmas tradition by far is Advent Sacks. We buy 24 small gifts and place them in a large bag. For each day in December, our daughter gets to draw a present out of the sack. The small gifts can be anything from candy to hair accessories to a movie pass. It’s something to look forward to every day while counting the days till Santa comes.

  11. this is our twins second holiday so this year we are deciding which traditions we want to stick with. so far we have done santa pictures (complete with our pup)and holiday donations/charity both years!

  12. hmmmm favorite holiday tradition with him as a baby is just spending a few evenings during the hectic season doing nothing but laying on the couch watching christmas movies with the glow of the christmas tree. our downtime to cuddle is my favorite!

  13. For the past 4 years since Megan was born we take the kids to the FAO Schwartz reading of
The Night Before Christmas then brunch tgen to cap off the day we go to Serendipity for desert. It is a day just for the four of us and my kids just love being in NYC during the holidays!!

  14. I love taking my Nieces into the city each year to see the Tree and then we head over to American Girl and do dinner, Special bonding times.

  15. Our family traditions are quite different during this time of year. Since the age of 2 weeks old MY mom has taken us to Florida (and usually a stop over to Disney when possible). Every year! And what a warm welcome to get out of the cold and have some vitamin D on the face!
I recall so vividely driving through the Carolina’s in my grandmother’s Chevy hatchback Nova laying side by side with my brother & sister (thats how small we were)seeing the sky as a blanket of stars. Not something a city kid gets too often.
So now that I have 3, it means the world to me to do the same thing with my children. To share with them the history and transition my mom and grandmother shared with me as a child. So now I teach my baby’s what it means to stand on the beach, embrace the warm sun, ocean sounds and “make a memory” of the moment as we walk to the light house a few miles down and collect shells. It’s almost surreal but it is one of my life’s greatest traditions. Xo

  16. My daughter and I love attending the Radio City Christmas Spectacular each year, and we always go to see the tree at Rockefeller Center after the show – so magical!

  17. I love walking with my son around the neighborhood to look at all the decorations and lights – we take a picture every year at the tree stand on the corner. They hang giant ornaments up and really make the neighborhood feel festive.

  18. My favorite tradition is baking cookies for Santa with my children on Christmas Eve. I love sharing in their excitement this time of year.

  19. Cassandra Eastman

My favorite tradition is buying my 2 & 4 year old coordinating Christmas PJ’s and watching them open them on Christmas Eve, along with a Christmas book or movie to read/watch together!
