Now that we’re officially in the holiday season, I think there’s nothing more fun than getting holiday nails! It’s a cute little way to get into the holiday spirit and it’s also a great way to express yourself. It’s a form of art. Christmas nails and holiday nail trends are everywhere and I must say, I’m obsessed with all of them! I don’t know how people decide on which design to get, it’s a hard choice. Now, of course you don’t have to go for Christmas nail designs, you could go for festive manicures or snowflake nails. The possibilities are endless and you can get as creative as you and your nail tech would like!
Let’s walk through some festive design ideas for both natural nails and acrylic nails this season!
Sparkle and Festive Colors
This is a really fun design! I love that it combines the classic Christmas red and gold. I totally think gold is a holiday color, by the way! It’s subtle and simple enough to be wearable daily. This is a fun option to do accent nails at the nail salon. These work on both short nails and long nails this winter season.
Presents
The holidays are all about giving! And with that comes presents for loved ones. How cute is this gift design on nails?! I love that it’s an accent nail, while the others are a more neutral option. A red french is a great look, too!
Holiday Red French
French nails are such a classic option, I personally don’t think they will ever go out of style. But what makes for a fantastic Christmas nail art idea is a holiday twist on this classic. Red french tips are so iconic and truly work year round, but what better time to try them out than the holiday season?!
Candy Canes and Holly
Candy canes are a fun holiday design! A candy cane design is an easier design choice, as they’re small lines. But the Holly plants here are really cool! They’re detailed while still being versatile, since you will have them for awhile.
Solid Nails
You can truly never go wrong with a solid color. It’s even more fun if you go for Christmas nail colors like forest green nails or traditional red. Emerald green is also a stunning choice for the holidays.
Christmas French Twist
Like I said, simple french tips are always a yes from me! If you have a steady hand, this is a fun design to try out! it’s the Holly plant right under the french tip. So the base of the nail is skin tone while it’s a party on top! It’s the perfect time to put little Christmas trees on your nails with your favorite nail artist. Holiday nail art is the perfect way to express yourself and go for different colors for a festive manicure.
Pearls
I don’t know why, but I think of pearls as a holiday jewel. They are so timeless, elegant and classy that it just makes sense for them to be. Sometimes it can be fun to add some texture to your nails! Gluing on these little pearls is so fun and you can choose any base you’d like. Keep it simple or mix it up with a red french!
Reverse French
Have you ever tried a reverse french manicure? It’s where the part by your cuticle is bare. I find it to be super modern and trendy and it’s a total modern twist on the classic french. It’s even more fun if you choose a color that pops, like holiday hues. The metallic green nail has my attention!
Santa Hats
What’s more perfect for the Christmas season than Santa’s hat itself?! It’s the best time of year to try these out! And you don’t need long nails for this one, you can get a fresh mani on shorter nails and have it still look the best way!
Candy Stripe Borders
Another great short nail option is to go for a muted color and make a border around it. Candy stripes are so fun! I love the mixture of the pink, white and classic red nail color. They’re almost like little polka dots!
Matte
If you’re not feeling a glossy or shiny coat, go for a matte look! It’ adds dimension and you can get any color in this finish. I love the texture it adds, as well!
Hailey Bieber-Inspired Glazed Nails
If you’re on TikTok, then you know all about the latest trend. Hailey Bieber got a glazed nail look, it’s essentially a base coat of any polish you’d like and then finish it off with a chrome powder for that glazed, shiny look. Like a glazed doughnut!
Sparkly Red
You can never go wrong with a little bit of sparkle on the holidays! These remind me of Dorothy’s slippers in The Wizard of Oz in the best way possible. Normally I go for a sparkly gold or silver, but I may try out this red!
Neutral Shine
If you’re not into color and like more neutral nails, I suggest trying these out! You get the neutral look you love, but can step out of your comfort zone a little by adding some sparkle and shine. This is shade Merry & Ice by OPI.
Reindeer
You know I love anything pink! We had to find a pink design that still felt festive! I love this bubblegum pink shade and the teeny tiny cute little reindeer face makes it that much more adorable. Its even better that it’s an accent nail and not on each one.
Metallic
Let’s finish off with the most fun category: metallics! There’s just something so cool and rock and roll yet feminine about metallic nails. This shade is stunning, it feels so wintry while remaining light and girly.
Which will you choose?
