Can you believe we are starting to shop for fall? While the official start of autumn is next month, we like to plan ahead on trends we are seeing. I have boots in my closet from years ago, these are a type of shoe that works for many seasons to come. Boot style is all over the place, from slouchy boots to platform boots, western boots, a good pointed toe, Chelsea boots and more. Fashion trends for booties are typically here to stay for awhile so I think boots are more of an investment piece, making them one of the best things to have in your closet. We’re getting into the spirit of fall fashion and starting with this year’s boot trends! Check out our favorite major shoe trends to see if you can add the right pair of boots to your collection this season.
Block Heel
Firstly, I’m a fan of a heel I can run around the city in. It’s a great way to dress up an outfit while needing to be in several places throughout the busy day. A block heel makes it so easy to walk in, but you still get the look of the heel and elongated legs. Depending on whether or not this shoe is neutral, I’d say this is another trend that will stick around and provide a great closet staple for years to come. Boots that fall into this category tend to be chunky combat boots, western-style boots, biker boots and low heels that are more square. The boot game offers a wide variety of options but a big trend we adore is one we can easily walk in.
Transitional Boots
Secondly, as we leave summer and enter cold weather, boots are a great option to lean towards for shoes. If you can get waterproof boots, I think that is the ultimate snag for cooler weather and unpredictable climate. Rain boots are even trendy options these days and they make options that are waterproof and you wouldn’t even realize it! I tend to stick with neutrals and fall hues rather than statement boots because it still feels like a warm palette but the silhouette of the shoe is what is changing for the new season. A few examples of transitional boots are classic knee-high boots, classic docs and pointy toes. Recently, we’ve been seeing foldover boots and they feel perfect for autumn outfits and going into the winter.
Fun Options
Finally, I’m all about having a trendy shoe in my closet! You can go for fall tone leather ankle boots that may be sage green or a pop of color western-inspired boots, which are super on trend at the moment. I suggest having one fun pair of boots in your closet to step out of your comfort zone with. Life is about having fun and expressing ourselves and a pair of shoes is one way to do it!
I personally add a pop of pink anywhere I can and find it goes well with my fashion choices and dresses up a casual outfit. Moreover, it doesn’t just apply to color, it can be a style of boot, length of heel or material. Knee boots if you go for kitten heels typically would be stepping outside of your comfort zone. I’ve pulled a few exciting options out of the neutral stack for this brand new season we are entering.
