Exploring Carmel by-the-sea

Although the main portion of my trip was in Monterey, I thoroughly enjoyed my jaunt to Carmel by the Sea. If you’re planning a trip to the area, you can’t go wrong with a stay at either of these beautiful towns. I highly recommend that you explore both of them thoroughly. The Monterey/Carmel area is easily one of the most beautiful and culturally entrancing places I’ve ever visited. Located about 2 hours south of San Francisco, This is a great place to visit, not to mention have a scenic drive. Here’s everything I did on my trip to Carmel California.

The Carmel Food Tour is a can’t-miss experience if you’re in the Monterey County area of California. Moreover, it’s made up of several stops where those on the tour can sample various dishes. They do a fantastic job of highlighting everything that the food scene in Carmel has to offer. It was one of the most fun things I’ve done in awhile! They have some of the best restaurants around and it’s a great way to get a taste of everything. I highly recommend doing this for a weekend getaway.

Taking the Carmel Food Tour is about more than just enjoying great food. It’s about the entire ambiance of the area. Carmel-by-the-Sea is a truly magical place. For as long as I can remember, people have always talked about Carmel like it was something out of a fairy tale. Almost like it was part of the country, yet totally separate in its vibe. When I was finally able to get a taste of this beautiful place, both literally and figuratively, I knew exactly why.

The tour has six to seven stops along the way, and it immerses guests in both delicious flavors and the history of the area. Furthermore, it’s as much about education as it is about delicious flavors, and it makes for an incredibly fun excursion. You’ll even get to explore beautiful scenery, hidden passages, and all the other little things that only locals normally get to experience. It really is a must if you’re in the area. There’s so much to do from going to a sandy beach to taking the scenic road on Pacific Coast Highway and catching stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, coastal towns and the Monterey Peninsula.

My food tour group met at the La Playa Carmel on the morning of the tour. The drive to the hotel itself is absolutely breathtaking, and when I actually arrived, I was blown away. La Playa exudes California history and charm. It’s a historic artists’ retreat, and you can see that in every part of the hotel. You’ll find gorgeous gardens that are immaculately maintained with a combination of groomed hedges and shrubbery and flowers that have been planted to highlight the natural beauty of the gardens as a whole while looking like they naturally sprang up where they’re growing. One of the best things to do on a trip is to fully immerse yourself in where you are staying. Do what the locals do in surrounding areas.

The lobby is really more of a living room, and that fits the personality of this retreat perfectly. We walked in for our meeting, and I was immediately wrapped up in an inviting atmosphere. It felt a little like a hug for my heart. It’s the perfect combination of beautiful and homey, drawing you in with every step. Basically, La Playa Carmel is all the best parts of the scenery and vibe of California. It’s really just like what you see in any movie. It’s spectacular. I will for sure stay here next time we are visiting for sure! If you live within a few hours drive, take a road trip! Or choose the best time in your schedule to fly out and visit one of the most beautiful, best places in the country.

Overall, our day in Carmel-by-the-Sea was spectacular and I seriously cannot wait to go back to this magical little slice of Northern California. Carmel Valley is more than worth visiting. It’s worth experiencing!
