Cozy Up in these Sweaters for Fall

It’s been quite a warm summer and in my house, we are ready for cozy fall sweaters! With fall comes cooler temperatures but also chunky knits to cozy up with on a chilly day with hot chocolate. The best part is we get to try new sweaters! I’m stepping up my autumn wardrobe with oversized cardigans and cozy knits for this time of year. We’ve had a few pieces in our cart for awhile now. I’m excited to share our top fall sweaters with you for the changing seasons.

Trends

Firstly, it feels like every sweater is on trend at the moment. A mock neck sweater or turtleneck sweater are leading the options. For those who maybe don’t want sweaters so tight on the neck, there are also plenty of other options. For instance, pullovers, crewnecks, cardigans- the list goes on and on. We all know how much I love the color pink, and I made sure to grab some options to keep true to my color palette. I made sure to find some neutral options that aren’t just great for lounging around on weekends and running errands. Some of these you could possibly wear to work. A chunky sweater is always a great style to have because it’s easy to throw on and pairs well with blue jeans, while an oversized tunic sweater is perfect to wear with leggings or tights. Go with what you are comfortable with and what you know you will get the most wear out of for fall fashion.

Secondly, I tend to go for a specific fit depending on my mood for the day. For example, if I’m feeling a bit like I need some extra warmth, I’ll grab one of my favorite fall cozy sweaters that is either a loose shape or an oversized fit for extra material and warmth. On the other hand, if I am wearing high waisted jeans or a high waisted skirt, I’ll grab the perfect cardigan that is cropped and fitted to pair well with the bottoms. With so many different fits of sweaters and they can depend on things like the items you’re accessorizing with them, what you feel like looks best on your own body, or even the occasion. For example, if I’m running out the door to take the kids to activities, I’ll grab a cozy cardigan with a relaxed fit that can act like a coat. An oversized sweater is very on trend at the moment and I have to say, I do love them for the fall season, before we have to be able to fit them under tight coats.

Seasonal

Finally, I love finding pieces that I can get away with wearing at least a few seasons each year. While a merino wool sweater is a great winter investment, it’s not so ideal for fall and spring. It depends on the climate you live in and where you travel throughout the year. A good quality sweater that will last years is exactly what I’m looking for. One that’s machine washable, is even more ideal. A pop of color and neutral tones can both fairly work as a new fall sweater, perfect sweater for winter or lightweight fabrics for spring. I love a good cardigan and especially one that is dainty and feminine to pair with jeans or a dress.
