Wedding season is upon us and I know it can be next to impossible to find the perfect dress for the events. There are a lot of things to consider when choosing a dress for upcoming weddings. That would include price point, styles you’re into and fabric preferences. Of course, the wedding attire you decide on will depend on dress codes which include casual and black-tie affair. We all know this is the major moment to show off an elegant dress. I’ve looked all over the place and found 15 of what I think to be the best summer wedding guest dresses.

Price

I think this is a big factor, especially considering the fact that a lot of times, we don’t wear these dresses again. We wear them to a big event, post a picture online and then feel like we can’t ever re-wear them because of that. I’m here to tell you, being an outfit repeater is cool! And there are so many different ways to style a dress differently, so it feels like you’re wearing it for the first time. I’ve included a few options that are easy to be closet staples, as well as some pricier ones for those who want to spend more! A wedding is a very special occasion and it’s totally fair to spend as much as you’d like when it comes to celebrating the special people in your life, but budget is completely understandable.

Style

When I say style, I mean we all have some image in our heads of what we’re looking for while we start the dress search. Even if we end up going for other options, we have a preference. Some styles that are popular at the moment are slip dresses, asymmetrical in either the hem or one-shoulder styles, slits and brighter colors.

Go With Comfort

You also have to think about whether or not you are going to be on the dance floor. It would be great to have something comfortable for the whole night if that’s the case! Don’t forget, chic jumpsuits are always a great option if you don’t want to wear a dress for the big day! At the end of the day, go with an excellent choice that is within your personal style, rather than something you might not be comfortable in all night. When it doubt, little black dresses are always a win!

Fabric

Since it’s summer, we want to find dresses that keep us cool, especially for outdoor weddings in the warm weather. Furthermore, sweat stains are not on the guest list! A lot of the dresses I’ve found or silk, satin or a really lightweight cotton, so you can stay breezy in the heat and humidity. Sometimes it can depend on the dress code or venue space. If we’re talking about formal weddings, cotton is out of the picture and silk and satin are front runners. But if it’s a destination wedding or beach wedding, lightweight fabrics will be absolutely key. And along with that you can start thinking about whether or not you want neutrals or bright colors and bold colors.
