Obviously, with the 4th of July nearing, I’m grabbing some fun clothing items for my kids to show their patriotic support for the holiday! I know a lot of the pieces sold in stores can be kind of cheesy, but some of those are really fun and make for cute outfits! There’s also a way to put outfits together with versatile pieces that can work really well for the July holiday. Moreover, I’ll go over a few ways you can plan your shopping mindset for the day, to figure out which clothes you’d like to purchase for July activities.
Fun Pieces
Firstly, let’s begin with the fact that we only get to celebrate the 4th of July one day a year, so why not pick out at least one fun thing? July festivities are a month long celebration in this country and the long weekend is the perfect excuse for the whole family to get a playful look for the summer. Henceforth, American flags and red stars are an iconic way to bring in some patriotic energy to your kids outfits.
Indeed, kids do love to dress up, it’s a way they express themselves. I know when I was a child, I loved to go all out for the holidays, I mean I still do! Overall, it makes the day feel a little bit more special. In our house, the best thing about holidays is the fun pieces we get to pick out for each one! America’s birthday is quite a celebration and Fourth of July outfits should be fun to put together!
Summer Staples
Secondly, there is such thing as perfect summer staples. For example, a white dress is essential for all summer long until Labor Day! My girls love the Billie skirt from LoveShackFancy and it’s a piece that not only can be worn year round, but it’s versatile enough to go with anything to be dressed up for holidays. Additionally, we need pieces in our kids wardrobes such as swimsuits, t-shirts and sandals. The colors red, white and blue are fairly versatile and can all be worn throughout the entire summer. Presently, I included a ton of summer staple items in my top picks for the holiday below. I hope you find at least one piece you’re excited about!
Practical Pieces
Finally, the sad truth is that our kids grow incredibly quickly. I completely understand if you don’t want to spend a ton of money on pieces that really only make sense to wear this one day of the year. When it comes to picking out a Fourth of July outfit, it does seem fair to grab items that are on the versatile side. For instance, blue stripes, blue colors in general, a white shirt, red shorts or even white sandals are all incredibly versatile options that can be mixed and matched! I’ve found a few great knit pieces that are patriotic, but in a non-cheesy way where they are practical for year round wear.
